What do you mean it did what it was supposed to do? Its easy to say it like that since Aliens Colonial Marines and Duke Nukem Forever both also did what they were supposed to do. Beyond was such a confusing trainwreck its spectacular in how dumb it is. Everything Beyond did Heavy Rain did better I mean this is shown in reviews and public opinions on both games just brushing it off as ´it did what it had to do´ sounds like it was sucessfull in what it did which, let´s be fair here, wasn´t really the case.

Quantic Dream games are supposed to be a narrative driven game with simple commands to interact and decide.

It's supposed to convey emotion heavy experience.

It's supposed to have great graphics and good face models.

Best metric in this case is seeing how the people that is their core market are very favorable of it.

To me HR and B2S were sucesfull in achieving what I expected. Will play Detroit to see as well.

Aliens CM and Duke NF were both trash level.

Should we keep remembering you that Detroit is 80 average so the low scores are really showing to be out of place? While ACM and DNF are very badly regarded and reviewed even on average. Totally exaggeration fallacy attempt.

The low reviews make the 80 average you´re pretty much just saying we should all give it good reviews because the metascore is around 80 so everyone should give it an 80. The games been received well give it a break man. It all depends on who´s playing Beyond two souls did not convey emotion to me, for me Beyond didnt have any merit and I would unironically give it a 3/10. You have to enjoy a game for it to be worth anything. You cant just check off bases and be like ´everything is there but I hated every second of it guess ill give it a 8/10´. Not everyone agress with eachother thats why sites like Metacritic only hold merit if you´re already interested in what you´ve seen of the game. People really should find a reviewer that have the same taste as them in games just so people wont focus on just the metascore anymore.

the 2 40 reviews impacted it about 1 point. So nope the game isn't sitting on the 80's because of those silly reviews.

I haven't said everybody should give it 80, what I said is that when a game accomplishes it's mission and deliver it's content as expected by their target base a 40 is obnoxious.

If you want to review games on your personal enjoyment and give 3/10 for a good working game that is your problem. But you make it pretty clear you hate the genre.

Maybe they enjoyed Heavy Rain and just didnt like this one? We dont know the context there is a point to be made for your case troll reviews obviously exist but I think 2 4/10´s are justifiable if it was a 1 or a 2 I´d agree with you 100%.

Have you seem the justification for their 4s? Have you seem one of them giving a 90 for a very bare game?

I looked them over. Videogamers review is acceptable and they are a review website I myself use sometimes to check what they think about games. Staff there has changed alot but I dont see anything wrong with what they write. They dont like the tone of the game and states that suerpmassive games with Untill Dawn and Telltale games both make better narrative driven experiences. I agree with him on that I dont think Quantic Dream is the best in Narrative driven games. I enjoyed Untill Dawn and TWD Season 1 more then I enjoy all of quanic dreams games. The other guy is annoyed that the controls are just as annoying as in Heavy Rain which is a complaint that would heavily downgrade the score. They also dont seem to enjoy the story at all. These arent troll reviews these are reviews by people that didnt enjoy this game as much as others in the genre and thought it was below standard for them. BTW the reviewer of Digitallydownloaded rated both Heavy rain and Beyond two souls a perfect score of 5/5 so they dont just ´hate david cage´s games´ they dont like this game. These arent troll reviews.

Well, I recently finished watching a Let's Play of this and have to say it's the best piece of work David Cage and his team have produced. Even the dialogue was reasonable. This game is NOT even close to a 79, it's an 85 at least and there is clear bias from the media here. Anyone who's been following the game and Cage for the last few weeks could not argue with that, Kotaku being at the forefront of the nonsense.

Just finish the game like 2 hours ago. It's an 7-8/10 game, the story felt a bit silly with androids rising up and then some dialogues were just off. These issues keep it from being a superb game, that is deserving of a 9.5-10 score.

I would hate to see you wrong...

B2S was reviewed by Brad L., HR by Matt S. and Detroit by Tyler T. so none were reviewed by the same reviewer, just on the same publication. And if they were all reviewed by the same person then the score would make even less sense since you would have a hard time to say on one hand that B2S and HR are 100 but Detroit is 40.

They gave 100 for No Man Sky, to Toren, Azures Night, Yonder, Pokemon Go (a lot of gameplay, graphics and history here right?), and several other very bad games...

I find it hard to see any consistency that would allow the 40 score to be objectively fair on their part.

And if you have Videogamers as standard bad as well... 007 Quantum Solace is a 90 for a 65 game... with the only other green game they gave a 40 being Fifa 14 (the iOS version), SSFII HF.

They also gave a 40 for B2S and 90 for HR, so no consistency at all since the games didn't vary as much in quality.

I do read videogamers reviews. Their 100 to No Man´s Sky was fucking dumb and they made fun of themselves on their youtube channel when they did it. I dont see why their opinion is any less valid then others. They do throw around Higher scores easier. And tell you what the B2S and HR scores is what I´d rather them aswell. Again I think Beyond two souls is a huge confusing dumb game. The reactions for that game were mixed regardless. I dont see anything to discredit their opinion obviously the guy who publishes the articles on digitallydownloaded (Matt Sainsbury) enjoys David cage´s games he wouldnt publish a review he wouldnt agree with in the slightest now would he? He also tweeted in support of the writer of the article

Im standing by what I said these arent troll reviews a troll review would be something like this guy has in the metacritic part of the review for SMO.

Though a really neat game, Super Mario Odyssey is an utterly underwhelming adventure for every long-term Super Mario fan in existence. Unless Cappy brainwashed you. In that case, you are a satisfied zombie customer now. No, seriously, only a zombie would find a healthy challenge in this pleasant but disappointingly easy Super Mario Walk-in-the-park. Sorry - Odyssey.

The score was a 75 a fine score but look at the writing of that piece the piece he picked to throw on metacritic. It screams ´Click me´ just to piss off fanboys. You need to look at the text and the context of the review before you can call it a troll review. They decide what scores they give and if they were really out to get you with Detroid they would´ve given it lower then a 4. Do understand that Im really looking forward to playing this game since its been revealed I really hope its good and Im picking it up as soon as im back from vacation but I just wanted to defend that not all bad reviews are troll reviews even websites with a shitty taste. As an example I give you Armond White https://www.rottentomatoes.com/critic/armond-white/movies?page=1 Armond White reviews are so fucking mixed. He takes offensive to alot of shit. Doesnt make his opinion any less valid, If you like the movies he likes you probably follow his recomendations (Which I dont sugest anyone with a healthy mind does).
