I'm deeply impressed by someone of your generation managing to beat an ancient game like Metroid. I never played it for more than a few hours when I had a NES as a kid, and can't get anywhere in it now either.

I've beaten Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Dragon Warrior, Marble Madness, Metroid, Contra, Castlevania, Mega Man 2 through 6, and even KID ICARUS, all back when I was a tiny youngster. Then a few years back I finally beat Ninja Gaiden and Punch-Out!!. But I still haven't beaten Mega Man 1. I think this thread's inspired me though. Maybe I should go conquer that demon and get my life back.

And then.... is that Battletoads? (I've gotten to the last level once. I hate myself.)

I replayed and finished Kid Icarus a year or two ago. It wasn't as difficult as I remembered. I also replayed and finished the original Castlevania(on GBA) about two or three years ago...I have no idea how I finished it as a kid. I also finally beat Mega Man(MM Collection on GC) a few years back, as I wasn't able to beat it as a toddler.

I beat NG2 as a kid, and will get around to attempting NG3 sometime in the future. Ghosts n Goblins is a soul-crushingly difficult game, as is Battletoads. I've also heard the same about NG3. I want to get Ghosts n Goblins and Battletoads so I can give them another go, but I have serious doubts about being able to do it.

The only thing I've done is XS every single mission on Trauma Center: New Blood on hard and the X Missions.

Mike Tyson - hard as heck but beatable

TMNT - eh, never got into the 1st, always liked 2 and 3

Ninja Gaiden - last world is where the crap hits the fan... still can't beat the Jacqio.

Startropics - beat 1 and 2, those were great gamess.

Ghosts and Goblin - forget it, im not a game god.

Oh and don't forget about Captain Skyhawk and Crystalis - both are games i only beat once and would be hard pressed to beat again.

Anybody remember when gaming was a skill? And there was Captain N the Game Master? There are no game masters anymore, it's like mastering your wang. Sure it's fun, but not exactly difficult to do.
