I think the Freakers are the ones that hoard together and the Newts are the smaller versions. They're all known as 'the infected'.

Dammit! How are they sticking with that name after so many people have laughed at and criticized it! Such poor judgement actually worries me about the rest of the game.

Deacon St. John is a cool name though....... and you have a thing for names don't you? Apparently that seems to be all you have seen of the game so far.

Yeah, I have. It looks mostly good, and I’m holding onto hope. But my favorite thing about games is story and characters/dialogue, and I worry about that part of the game. Some of it seems very cheesy so far (e.g. the names “freakers” and Deacon St. John), and I’m not crazy about how heavily they’re leaning into the biker gang thing.

I've not seen people laughing at or criticizing the name o.O I don't really see a problem with it anyway, if you said that name to me, I'd instantly think biker dude, which is what he is, lol

Really? I’ve heard numerous people make fun of the name “freakers”, including multiple video podcasts/personalities (e.g. Greg Miller/KFG, Podcast Beyond). And I immediately thought it sounded dumb when I first heard it.

I’m all about zombie games but that footage looks meh as fuck. Meh gunplay, meh driving mechanics. They still have a long time to fix them though.

The game mechanics are more worrying to me. Batman vision, radio towers, encampments, etc. Seems like Far Cry Zombies. Except even Far Cry has abandoned some of those mechanics. Hopefully the story makes up for it. LOL @ the developer so anal about the game not having zombies.
