I can’t believe Resident Evil 6 is their third best selling game.

Resident evil 6 is not as bad as people like to believe. The sales are the proof of that.

But, it did have pacing issues.

Resident Evil 4 is highly praised and it's not in the top 10?

Resident Evil 7 looks like a success. Not a fan of 7 direction but good for it.

MHW...who would of thought this game would exceed expectations. So damn glad.

Wonder with how well the PC version will sell. Given how long it's taking to make the port, as well as it being the team's first ever PC port, I don't really expect it to be polished, let alone selling a lot.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

3m above the biggest handheld entry. Interestingly I think the previous best Console version was 3m below the biggest handheld entry.

Safe to say that when Capcom actually puts an effort into their big franchises that they will find more success.

Says also that Monster Hunter XX and ultra Street fighter 2 had hit sales on Switch. Would have been even better if XX had been localized.

Strong sales can also indicate blind faith in the game thanks to the previous entry in the series. I count myself among those buyers.
However games can sell really well and still have a very high dissatisfaction rate. Capcom don't just look at sales numbers and call it a day. They market research feedback. Regardless of sales number, brands can be damaged with the loss of trust. There were developers from other studios posting on Twitter saying they want to help Capcom "fix" RE. They took RE7 in a very different direction, and even though I'm not a big fan of it (I would have preferred something in between RE2 and RE4) I think they'll make RE8 in the same vein.

Sure they can.

But the question here is if it makes sense, and it doesn't. It's still a good game. Enjoyable to play. It just wasn't what some people wanted it to be. It was too action'y. But heck it was a ton of fun to play!

I do agree with you about where they should have gone. I also have no interest in playing RE7 and have checked out from the series until something more akin to the classic games comes around (RE1/2/3/4/5). But, i didnt hate RE6 at all. I just think it felt streched too thin to make the 3 campaigns.

Greatsales!!

Resident evil 7 looking quite the success too

Yez i noticed that too. Both MHW and RE7 are doing really well.

I assume this is shipping numbers and NOT sold through?

Yep! I think besides Japan, Korea also have it

Pocky Lover Boy!

10M units alone on both PS4/X1 and I can envision an extra 2M units from PC too or maybe even 3M+ units! Arguably among one of the company's best decision in it's entire history to make a transition for a japanese/handheld centric franchise to a global/home centric franchise ...

It's official, they don't have to be at the mercy of the japanese or the portable audience any longer ... (it's clear for Soundwave that they can have their cake and eat it too)
