Resident evil 6 is not as bad as people like to believe. The sales are the proof of that.

But, it did have pacing issues.

Strong sales can also indicate blind faith in the game thanks to the previous entry in the series. I count myself among those buyers.
However games can sell really well and still have a very high dissatisfaction rate. Capcom don't just look at sales numbers and call it a day. They market research feedback. Regardless of sales number, brands can be damaged with the loss of trust. There were developers from other studios posting on Twitter saying they want to help Capcom "fix" RE. They took RE7 in a very different direction, and even though I'm not a big fan of it (I would have preferred something in between RE2 and RE4) I think they'll make RE8 in the same vein.

Sure they can.

But the question here is if it makes sense, and it doesn't. It's still a good game. Enjoyable to play. It just wasn't what some people wanted it to be. It was too action'y. But heck it was a ton of fun to play!

I do agree with you about where they should have gone. I also have no interest in playing RE7 and have checked out from the series until something more akin to the classic games comes around (RE1/2/3/4/5). But, i didnt hate RE6 at all. I just think it felt streched too thin to make the 3 campaigns.
