40 mln (20 mln for engine/singleplayer and 20 mln for multi/online).

Nintendo needs good online, exclusive FPS. Metroid Prime 4 is ideal choice.

Why does Nintendo need that? Online FPSs are perhaps the most oversaturated market and filled with more large-scale established franchises than it can manage, no dev team under Nintendo has experience in the field. It's one of the lowest opportunity for growth on the platform.

From same reason why they need Metroid Prime game, hardcore online multplayer would bring more hard core gamers to Switch. If MP4 dont have online mode it would be missed opurtinity, but with fact Nintendo is start pushing online and they will launch paid online, there are good chanches that MP4 will have online multiplayer.

I don't really care if it has online multiplayer or not, as long as it has a beautiful, polished, immersive, and atmospheric single player campaign, like Prime 1-3 did.

I would just throw the thing at kickstarter and roll with whatever comes out of that. =P

No Jumpin is right we've had those type of games on Nintendo platforms before people just don't go for them because its not what they buy the platform for, Prime had multiplayer with both Echoes and Hunters and it just didn't suit the series at all. The likes of Cod and such failed to impact the userbase as games like Rayman even outsold them they don't offer much growth what so ever which is why Nintendo did their own thing in creating Splatoon.

Fact that we had them before doesnt relly change nothing, and comparing 1vs1 local multiplayer with potential online multiplayer with far more players is quite big. Fact is that singleplayer game with good online multiplayer mod also is more attractive like package than game just with single player mode, I mean if online multiplayer is done good you could have some people buying it just for multiplayer part of game not caring about single player content. Additional online multiplayer mode is win-win situation in any case.

It wasn't 1v1 in Echoes and local multiplayer was all the rage back then with games like Timesplitters and all what you're suggesting is the same mistake they made back then where they just jump on a popular crowded bandwagon and that fell flat. Fact of the matter here is people don't buy games like Metroid for multiplayer it's like saying games like Deus Ex should have it when that's never been what the games are about or aim for.

Games like Splatoon already fill the online shooter void on the platform.

Like I wrote, comparing 1vs1 local multiplayer with potential modern online multiplayer with far more players is pointles. Fact is that Metroid never had good sales also, so online multiplayer mod would actually increase appeal of game. Like I wrote, fact is that singleplayer game with good online multiplayer mod also is more attractive like package than game just with single player mode, I mean if online multiplayer is done good you could have some people buying it just for multiplayer part of game not caring about single player content.

Splatoon is team 4vs4, 3rd person, online shooter, MP4 could be 1vsAll online FPS. They could offer quite different experience, same like Splatoon is difrent to other online shooters.

I would make sure it was as good as it could be on the Switch. Don't know what budget that would require. MP4 might not make Nintendo millions of dollars, but I think its an important game. Like Bayonetta 3 will be. Just more quality games for the core gamers.

No mate you're failing to understand the context here multiplayer back then was the equivalent of online today because Halo took off and it failed to help what you're suggesting is the exact same bandwagon mistake as back then just because you have decent multiplayer it doesn't mean extra sales, if COD and such can't take off as MP focused games then do you realistically think Metroid can do what they couldn't because tbh that's not realistic which is why Splatoon came into being.

Yeah its 4V4 so? It's an online shooter and it's done its job with 6m units and counting more than all the CODs on Nintendo platforms combined you know why because people aren't looking for you think will expand the userbase on Nintendo platforms they're looking for something different and Splatoon delivers that in the online shooter section. If Nintendo wants a COD like shooter they should use a new IP not Metroid as that's not what people buy the series for.
