Disagree on this, what that thread currently tracks very well even as its being tweaked are the swings in sales and it clearly shows a relative decline for PS4 so far this month while the switch had a noticeable upward swing at the beginning of the month which has tapered away but not by much.

While it will take some time to tweak the thread's points allocation system to correlate with sufficient accuracy to NPD, relative performance in sales for the devices can already be seen to a reasonable degree. So it is not completely unreasonable for anyone to get excited about the potential outcome of May NPD for the switch even if its a bit premature as we are only about half way through the month.

The other factor as well is that the thread is curently predicting a high margin victory for the PS4 in April compared to March and if this is the case, the swing for May might still not be enough to make it lose its leadership position in sales.

Intresting.... even with PS4 Slim being sold out for weeks on end at amazon its still on top for the month?

Don't forget the different shops are weighted. Gamestop counts 100%, Amazon only 50% and Best Buy a measly 20%. PS4 is still doing pretty fine at Gamestop, hence why it's big lead there translates into leading period.

However, PS4 was losing there also every day the past couple of days without any visible stock issues, implying that the sales got boosted quite a bit from GoW and are normalizing since

What's up with Hyrule Warriors in Italy? Don't they like it at all or is it sold out?

I think Italy has some form of delayed reaction to all things switch. Even the Switch SKUs for a long time seemed to be out of favour in Italy only to then go to number 1 for the past 2 months or so by which time its performance had relatively tapered off in other european Amazon markets like France.

Dont be too surprised if by next week, Hyrule warriors goes to number 1 there, it is just the way the italians roll.

The tool is still in progress and its weighting system probably isnt quite kosher yet. But it is quite some brilliant work which will certainly be more accurate than just the Amazon bestaeller list over time.

Right now I think its weighting system leans considerably in favour of the PS4......for example, its raw prediction for April suggests the Switch at 50% of the PS4, something I consider extremely unlikely despite the impact of GOW, but if it even comes to anything below 65% of the PS4's sales for April, I would say the tool is already very accurate.

I just checked at nowinstock, and apparently it's not just on Amazon that the PS4 has supply issues. While both the slim and the Pro are available there, it's just the 1TB slim and the white Pro, all other models are sold out there too according to that site.

So either the retailers didn't order enough consoles in wake of GoW or there's some issues on the supply chain at Sony's side. With the problems in Japan earlier this year it seems like it's more a problem on Sonys side

DK got legs!

20 games for the Switch! Damn it is doing to well. Also really happy to see DK doing great also. I think we will have another game to complete the new trilogy.
