Sony had come out and said "okay" we ll give you more of that.

I cant google and find the link, but I remember reading some marketing message some time ago, where they mentioned what types of games europeans generally like, and what in those games they like ect.

I think GoW is in a style thats more appealing to the european market than it was before.
Also Its probably doing better in Denmark/Sweden/Norway/Iceland ect.. and places where vikings settled, cuz of the Nordic lore elements.

It probably helps that Nordic lore is also popularised by Marvel. But I agree that this style is better suited to the European market than the traditional games. Although those where great as well.
