Fair enough, to each their own. I would disagree as adding a second stick seemed like a natural evolution as we moved into 3d gaming. I guess it puts me in mind of someone saying something along the lines of "the controller is revolutionary it has 9 buttons instead of 8"
Having the first one to make accurate movement in a 3D environment possible seems like a much bigger deal. That said Nintendo may have taken it mainstream but they ripped it off too (XE-1 AP).
I think the R3 and L3 under the sticks is more an innovation than just adding multiples of something and as far as I know Sony deserves that credit.
Also that the original Play Station controllers lacked any analog input at all (I think I still have 2 of those that work).
