Are there actual real life indicators suggesting any of this?

All we have is NPD data for Jan+Feb, here are the results for each year.
2014-~400k
2015-~425k
2016-~380k
2017-~375k
2018-~545k
2014-2017 were pretty damn consistent while 2018 is a good deal ahead of them. Japan is also up according to Media Create although Japan is so low it still adds up to nothing.
No world on Europe/ROW outside of vgchartz estimates nut its likely up as well.
Im not sure if that counts as "resurrect" but its off to a good start so far this year.

A rumor stated by Nintendo’s president.

Actually Kimishima said they are planning to ship around 20m Switch consoles for FY 2018, but that's still not official expectation for FY 2018 that we will get at end of April when we will have FY 2017 results.
It'll obviously outsell the One but outselling a failure of a console is hardly a reason to celebrate. Or did Vita fans throw a party for outselling the poor Wii U?
Of course Switch will pass it. Nobody outside of the USA, seems to care about X1.

It's pretty obvious the Switch will outsell the xbone given the miserable sales in Japan and the Switch being the fastest selling console ever.

Selling 35 million units in four years is hardly a failure, imo. With sales trending upward this year, amd witha good three years left, the X1 is likely to surpass the 50 million mark too. Which would be ahead of the SNES.
So does that mean SNES is a failure also?
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Priceless. 25m units over the next 8 months?
You're a new user, but your few posts are always a good read.
Lol,its not if its more like when.
I see the switch setting in around 80-100mill
Xbox onw will be lucky to hit 50-60mill.
