It could do. I would think it Sqaure see enough $$$ then they'll release sooner rather than later.

@fagarcia75: Yeah, I played this game constantly for a while there. There was this hill area I remember that didn't have much purpose (I can't even remember what you got at the top), but as right off a town and ha a ton of fairly high powered enemies. I'd just go up the hill until I ran out of MP, run back to the inn and sleep, and then go back up the hill. In actuality a rather tedious process but hey, you gotta charge up somehow.
@skip: If they did that I might have to finally go out and buy a DS. The only current gen console I have is a Wii, since I'm a poor grad student living off loans, but really, there's so much on the DS I really should just get one already, and might have to if SE did such a thing, even though I have full knowledge of how cheap a ploy that is.
Edit: I'd still rather just have it be on the VC, though. $8 for a SNES game vs. $140 for the DS and $30 for the game (or whatever they'd charge for a remake). Not mch of a contest, really.
My consoles and the fates they suffered:
Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)
A more detailed history appears on my profile.
I kind of remember this and Secret of Evermore but I cannot remember if I played them. I'd buy them for VC but would not support remakes.

There's already at least one Mana game for the GBA, and one for the DS, so they could release it on VC if they wanted to. Of course, this is Square we're talking about, who never released Chrono Trigger in Europe in ANY way, shape or form (VC. Release. Now. Bastards.), so I wouldn't be holding my breath.

Yeah that would be good one.
it would nice to kick Thanatos butt again.
why Square-Enix has published so few games in VC..
Also Chrono Trigger and FFVI would be very good thing
Secret of Mana is my favorite RPG, I would love a port for the DS. Or even better, an english version of the sequel, seiken densetsu 3.
Unfortunately, this won't happen. You also won't see any Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, or any other fabulous SNES-era Square games appearing on the Vitual Console. As Onna said, Square would prefer to re-release their titles endlessly on handhelds rather than put the originals on the VC.
And Secret of Evermore wasn't much of a game, sorry. I will always hate Square for bringing that game to America, while the true sequel to Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) was a Japan-only release.
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)
Nah, SquareEnix is too busy making FFVII spinoffs for cell phones and adding more polygons to FFXIII to actually do anything worthwhile...
| *~Onna76~* said: No... expect a remake for full price and more on the DS, as S.E. always does... |
What Onna said. Square Enix has not been a big fan of the VC and they have said as much. Why? Look at Onna's post for the reason.

Don't hate on Secret of Evermore because it wasn't SD3. Secret of Evermore is a great game, much better than Secret of Mana in my opinion.
