Forums - General Discussion - How open/secretive are you on the internet?

Hey guys. So, I have had people tell me in the past that I say things that are too personal and that should be kept to myself, but that's a bit of an issue to me as I'm generally an open person, and tend to want to talk about my personal life/issues online as a way to cope So, I tend to talk about some disturbing/depressing events of my past, which may make people uneasy, but I guess I'm just used to it.

How about you guys? Do you value your privacy? Or do you like to be open about who you are in the cyberspace?

In the past? I could tell you, you still get told that

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Not very open compared to you I suppose. People don't like to hear depressing things, so I don't talk about my past. Generally been more open with the present though.

I'm not super open. Having something related to my life as my avatar is far as I usually go. That said, I'll happy friend internet friends over social media. That I don't really care about.

Depends. If it I wouldn't say it in a conversation with someone in the pub while I'm sober I wouldn't say it on the internet. I treat the internet like someone you meet from time to time while at the pub, you converse with them but you never get to deeply personal and if you do, it's most likely the mood or the alcohol. I've let some shit slip, like the size of my dick and what not but I general hold back as if I were speaking to a group of people and not a white screen of text.

You actually made me think of my uncle, he always talks about his life's story/personal issues with people that he's just met So I guess I'm just used to it.

I don't know. I'm a different person every moment so depends on which person I am at the moment

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

There really is no need to make a personal problem post on the internet nowadays, just look up "Insert Problem here" reddit on google and someone will have already made a post about it.

I try to keep my personal and internet life separate usually.
