Forums - Movies Discussion - What is the most underrated movie you know? (Movie tips)

I can name three from last year that I loved and audiences seemed to hate or be mixed on. The Last Jedi, mother! and It Come At Night

I make game analyses on youtube:

Shadow of the Colossus:

Club Dread
Planet Terror and Death Proof
The Three Caballeros
The Road to El Dorado
Dead Silence
Cabin Fever (Eli Roth original)

There are a lot more, but that's enough for now.

The Last Jedi (I still don't get the sheer hate for this one in some circles)
Batman vs Superman, and the DCEU in general (I've enjoyed them all so far, but Wonder Woman is the only one universally respected)
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Gremlins 2
Howard the Duck (yeah, it's cheesy as hell, but it's a fun movie)
Live Free or Die Hard
Star Trek Into Darkness & Star Trek Beyond
Alien 3 (with some caveats)

Agree with this one, Assembly Cut edition of course. (don't agree with a certain other on your list!)

My first answer though, would be *obviously*.

Der Untergang. While it is praised, I feel it's not known well enough and it's ridiculous it didn't get the Best Foreign Oscar. Bruno Ganz as Hitler is genuinly terrifying. One of the best acting performances I've ever seen.

First in my head:

The first movie that comes to mind is "Better off Dead".  It has a more well known spiritual successor "One Crazy Summer".  Both movies are hilarious if you like screwball humor.  The other cult movies from pre-internet days that come to mind were eventually discovered by a lot of people like The Princess Bride or The Big Lebowski.

Movies... hmm I think Stephen Spielberg’s War of the Worlds is underrated.
Also from him I think TinTin is underrated.
Super 8 is pretty good. I also liked an obscure Animal Planet documentary movie from 2003 called Alien Planet. I liked that a lot.

The recent Tomb Raider. Was a good movie with a good choice of actress Lara croft has NEVER been a sexy character, she's always been a strong female lead and a archeologist/adventurer. The movie seem to get slack for this but they had it all wrong.
The action scenes were intense and perfect for a movie taking off a video game. You could see yourself in them situation while playing Lara in the game.c
My only issue were the other characters (apart from the old women in the meeting room with lara as she obviously has a bigger part to play in future movies) were quite forgettable.
