Oh cool, another thread to beat up on Xbox for people who think they’re gamers!

Wut? That was a good and honest question. Do you think is a excuse to talk shit about Xbox? Many of the replies think it will indeed outsell the Snes...

OP: Definitelly possible, but it depends on two things: On what Microsoft will do this and next year to keep the sales steady and when will the next console arrive.

It should; it's doing about 400K/month in the non-holiday period, when sales spike 3-5x.

That means it should be able to pull past 7M (~44M LTD) with another year under it's belt.

Even if they dropped the recently-launched X1X altogether, it should be able to crawl past the SNES from there.

It surely will surpass 50m, but it will not cross 60M mark, perhaps not even 55m.

Of course it will, 2018 XB1 sales are the best of any year so far, and it still has 2019 and most of 2020 ahead of it before Xbox 4 likely releases Holiday 2020.

XB1 has done 7.5-8.6m per year so far this gen, and since 2018 so far has started above previous years it will likely do 9m+ for the year, moving it up to around 44.5m+ at the end of 2018, meaning that it will need to do just 5m between 2019 and 2020 to pass SNES.

I agree with pretty much everything you said except for assuming having its best Jan+Feb means it will have its best year.

X model+PUBG released at the end of 2017 along with Feb having some great deals which has given it strong sales to start the year.

Overall i would expect XBO to sell the same as the last 4 years or ~8 million.

Most likely. I think 50M lifetime is a good low-end projection, with 60% of its sales coming from the U.S. Overall, I'd say 55M ±5M LTD, with the middle to low end of the range being the most likely.

Yep thats exactly what i think.

PS2+XB & PS3+360 each did ~180 million so i expect similar results from PS4+XBO, likely ~125m & ~55m.

Yeah, it should finish 2018 at 42-45 million and 2019 should be at least another 6 million (low balling). It will reach 50 million sometime in 2020 and should finish it's life cycle close to 60 million. PS4 should be well more than double (about 150% higher) total sales. About 130-140 million is my guess.

Sure looks like it will, so far, but it will not do it by much.

This to me puts into perspective how the console gaming market has grown, when Xbox One may outsell the SNES. Which from my perspective at least felt like it was doing really well. But there was no internet back then, so I didn't have much to go on.

But yeah, depending on when/if they launch their next gen system, it looks very possible.

Yep, SNES & NES doing ~50m & ~60m made them the market leaders and huge successes.

Now doing those numbers is just considered decent and puts you way behind the market leader.

If Xbox dont do generations Any more it will beat every thing

I actually think that it has a chance of beating the NES.
