for the majority. Like the folks who do like it are somehow more 'right' than those who don't. Cut that out. The game is a critical disappointment, you're just going to have to live with that. Good, solid game idea but no depth. That's it. Quit trying to defend it and act like others are wrong for being critical of an element they don't enjoy. It's a completely valid response, and I happen to agree that the game would be far better if it had an actual progression system. as it stands, they're charging full price for a game worth perhaps one third of that, if I'm being generous.

If you like it, that's fine! all the power to you! I loved the movie Hook, but I don't pretend it's a cinematic masterpiece.

Have you tried the game yourself? I take it you're interested in it because you've written so many heartbreaking posts about it. It just seems like you're trying to convince yourself and everyone else that the game is not good and there's no depth. Don't care about critics, there's a good chunk of people having fun and enjoying the game. Complaints about lack of content are valid of course, obviously everyone would like more of everything. It's a GaaS game so likely they'll add new stuff. What makes you think the majority are not enjoying the game anyway?

And because there's no "actual" progression system, you can jump in any time and have an equal set of weapons and such so you don't have to grind your ass off to keep up with other players. It's one of the things I absolutely love about Gears of War, you only get cosmetic stuff when leveling up.

If you already have X1 or PC it's only 10$ to play the game for a month and see if you like it. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Metacritic is 67....oh dear, bye bye Rare. Hopefully the employees can find work quickly.

What? The games reviews haven't been good but so far the game has been pretty successful. Doubt Rare is going anywhere anytime soon.

Depends on what one considers quite successful I guess and if some people logging in with free trials can be considered that.

There's nothing I love more than watching a fresh new IP get hyped to high heaven, only to have metacritic/opencritic send it crashing back to earth.

Next up on the "This isn't as good as we hyped it up to be" block... Star Citizen.

Followed by.... Days Gone

I’ve not seen Sea of Thieves nor Days Gone, “hyped to high Heaven”. Star Citizen, perhaps, but even then, I don’t get celebrating over people just being excited about new games and then they not panning out quite like they hoped those would.

Sea Of Thieves has been hyped to heaven by XBox fanboys on youtube, because they've got no ammo. Half of them have since bought PS4's  because after this theres no denying the truth of the situation. Sony is just in another league from Microsoft.

Not so hot on reviews, but as long as people enjoy it, numbers doesn't matter.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Aggregates seem to be more useful than individual reviews.

Ryuu96.

Why blame me? Cerebal brought up Days Gone.
and yeah I compair it to state of decay, because its a exclusive from MS about zombies, and the other is from Sony.

He brought up scores, and yes I know Ive said these things before, but because his post was directly oppersite of my views, I thought Id say I dont think as he does.

I was hyped for it for years leading up to its release, even going so far as to pre-order it. I played the betas (Both of them) And already got bored before the end of them. Based on what critics are saying, what my friends who do own it are saying, and what I'm seeing in the streams/youtube videos, my worst fears were correct and the game is an empty, hollow shell of a game.

due to a clerical error on Amazon's part, I didn't get the game at pre-order, and I'm glad I didn't. Honestly, just looks like a huge disappointment.

And again, the truth of having some people like it doesn't mean it's a good game, or that it's fit for the majority. I return you once again to my escargot comment. sure, some like it, some happen to enjoy that kind of thing and I respect that, but MOST gag and find it gross, just like how it seems MOST don't like Sea of Thieves due to its lack of depth, a lack of a progression system, and a lack of content.

Star Citizen looks amazing in terms of graphics... gameplay? meh, no idea.
Could well be one of those games that gets thrashed by critics.

Days gone? nah that sh*t looks solid when it comes to gameplay, and its not like its a bad looking game.
also hyped to high heaven? most ps4 guys are like "looks okay" and Xbox guys are like "state of decay 2 is better".

I personally think Days Gone will end up a better game than State of Decay 2, from watching gameplay videos.
Expecting it to score better Metacritically than State of decay 2.

@Bold, You're one of the main ones who has kept bringing up Days Gone in comparison to State of Decay 2 lately and here you are doing it again and yet again I'm going to have to tell you that a thread (this one) is not a State of Decay 2 vs Days Gone comparison.

Better to talk about this in the 1 million thread but the fact is that nobody has a clue what % of people are using the free trials.

Uh huh.

Let's get back on topic shall we and drop the comparisons to Sony, this thread is about Sea of Thieve's Metacritic.

I wish I could say that wasnt the case on youtube, but it is. I'll stick to the subject though.

You've been here for almost 10 years now and you're still trying to console war.

That's both impressive and sad.

78 because it is a new Microsoft IP.
If it was a Nintendo game, the very same game would score around 94/100 average.

Don't say opposite of the truth .
Most metacritic reviewers are american and european people.
