Forums - Nintendo - Prediction: Kirby Star Allies will flop hard.

It seems very likely it'll sell over a mil. The original game was made to be easy and approachable to most people, and that sold quite well, so it doesn't really seem that different here. The games still do consistently well as far as I know.

It will sell enough to be worthwhile.

In the worst case scenario it will still sell 1M units even if it's priced at $60 ...

The franchise is on a decline anyways ever since it became annualized and HAL Laboratory don't care as much for quality control anymore or aim beyond just decency ...

Think the original OP was just a single line long.... Threads like this shouldn't exist in the first place, this is barely a post worth of writing never mind a thread.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Annualized ? Decline ? Lack of quality control ?

The kirby series doesn't correspond to anything you just said you know. (As for what's considered mainline titles)

I don't even ... *sigh*

Yes, Kirby is annualized and there is indeed a lack of quality control from HAL Laboratory ... (the same studio who used to develop high end titles like Smash Bros Melee and Epic Yarn has fallen hard from grace is stuck with a ceiling of decency such as Rainbow Curse and Star Allies)

As far as I'm concerned Kirby has no mainline titles ...

As far as you are concerned, Epic Yarn was developed by the company that is always one step ahead of IBM.

LOL, that's not saying much since IBM is veering towards irrelevancy in the not too distant future ...

You are really, really uninformed.

Epic Yarn was developed by Good-Feel.

What do you get when you take the three letters that come before I, B and M in the alphabet? That's the reason why HAL is called HAL. Back then when they came up with the tongue in cheek name HAL, IBM was a really big player.

Not true, the game credits also show the HAL logo so who's the uninformed one now ?

The basis behind HAL's naming is ironic since they never competed in any of the market segments where IBM dominated ...

It's been annualized since its inception. Check the timeline of Kirby releases.

As far as main series or not...its fine I guess. Its your opinion.

Technically, Epic Yarn was developed by Good Feel. Sure, HAL gets development credits, but it was mostly from their character production section.

This game will easily sell between 2-3 million. Could easily do a lot more.
