So here in both the OP and 2nd Post (which will contain weekly info) we will see the road to 2mil sold in japan. Thats right 2mil BotW copies sold with this thread tracking it all!

First off let me post this to make this clear... This is about BotW Retail+Digital both NSW and WiiU hitting 2mil in Japan. A feat that no Zelda has ever done. On top of this is the only Zelda game to top 1mil since OoT (1997). Highest Zelda is tge original at 1.65mil in japan. Anyways lets begin........

WiiU 150k (retail+digital)

NSW 150k (digital)

We shall use this for end goal as wiiu version minimum is 150k for both retail and digital. NSW isnt 150k now but its around if not over 100k currently. This means we need a total of 1.7mil for the retail switch version to hit thrse numbers! Lets start

Can't believe this game was so succesful in everything that now it is the best game ever.

Great thread. I didn't realize Zelda Breath of the Wild already sold 125k in Japan in 2 months already. If it keeps this up, it will breeze through 2m.

2m in Japan for a Zelda game would be Legendary. Skyward Sword did what 400k? And Twilight Princess 700k? Breath of the Wild finally made Zelda relevant again for the first time since Ocarina of Time.

So i think goals to hit for this and next year to get to 2mil (so 929k) by end of 2019 lets say should be...

2018: 550k (avg 10.6k weekly)
2019: 380k (avg 7.3k weekly)

Avg so far 2018 is 13.9k (9 weeks) so remainder of the year needs to avg 10.6k to hit about 550k!

Only thing I have issue with is that it is doubtful that Zelda BoTW Switch is at 150k Digital, but maybe by the time it crosses 2m it will have it.

In november I believe I posted that it was at 108k, and only getting about 2k a month.

Your not wrong, but dont forget wiiu numbers will easily be above 150k. Maybe somewhere around the 180k mark ship+digital. So it can make up for it. That said if botw gets even close then i can wait another 50k retail no biggie

I think it will definitely be close to 2m. It will be interesting to see if it crosses the finish line. I'm a little sad to see that there is a game that will finally surpass the original NES one, but I think BotW is the game that will do it.
