I honestly don't know how much is PS3 in japan and what SKUs are available,,,but 200 after price cut seems abit low you are right.

200 dollars in Japan would make it maybe cheaper than the Wii
that's 140 Euro
that's even less than a DS costs in Europa

40GB PS3 on amazon.jp cost 37,5k yen or 240 euro or 375$. =)
/off interesting thing, now 1$ = 100 yen.

p.s. do NOT underestimate power of ps3. =)
It sold 9 mln. by the end of 2008.
it started otselling x360 WW since december. =]

Release of GT5P in Europe had BIGGER impact on sales, then x360 pricecut. =))

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

Dude, it's April of 2008. We still got 8 more months left. I thought you disappeared forever?

OT: Weekly 1st month will be 350k. Wii will be around 150k or more ahead, but the Ps3 will start doing great numbers and it will MURDER 360!

Weekly 2nd month will go down 50k or more. Then it may rise up again. (like the Wii's strange pattern.)



Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

 

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil

I think everyone knows FishyJoe is a troll by now. As long as he's not doing anything offensive or disrespectful, I'm fine with his trolling. I mean, he is a mod, and ioi loves this guy. There's not much that can be done about it.
