You mean IV?

This. If you are going to use Roman numerals, make sure you know what you are doing. Otherwise, just say: Black Ops 4.

Actually IIII is the original way it was used and IV was later adopted to prevent confusion.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_numerals

"The original pattern for Roman numerals used the symbols I, V. and X (1, 5, and 10) as simple tally marks. Each marker for 1 (I) added a unit value up to 5 (V), and was then added to (V) to make the numbers from 6 to 9:

I, II, III, IIII, V, VI, VII, VIII, VIIII, X.

The numerals for 4 (IIII) and 9 (VIIII) proved problematic (among other things, they are easily confused with III and VIII), and are generally replaced with IV (one less than 5) and IX (one less than 10). This feature of Roman numerals is called subtractive notation."

And the Xbox controller is?

I mean, the position of the left stick, plus the better triggers, make the xbox controller much more suitable for shooters (as far as controllers go)

Sorry, but that left analog nonsense is just plain garbage started by fanboys. Our hands are symmetrical, therefore a symmetrical controller makes sense. And tens of millions prefer it that way. Of course, our bodies can adapt to using just about any controller, so an asymmetrical one isn't that big a deal. But, to actually talk about that placement being better than a symmetrical one makes absolutely no sense, scientifically/biologically speaking, and is just clearly bias talking. Really, if Xbox gamers think the placement of the left analog is superior, they should be bitching at MS to also swap the right analog and face buttons.

Well it doesn't prove anything until there's confirmation of it.

Besides, I thought it was common knowledge that this has always been about money? I wonder who really thought they 'just left'?

You would be surprised. There were several people in this thread who insisted that Activision ditched the XBO because the PS4 had a higher install base (and not for any other reason, like MS' marketing deal ending).

I haven't read through that thread, but I'm going to guess the logic is that Sony was so far ahead, MS would have had to pay a lot more to keep the marketing deal, more than they were willing to pay. Not that Activision just automatically jumped ship cause of the gap. If so, than that is more than likely 100% correct. It's only natural that you want your product associated with the more popular platform, so the guy in a distant 2nd is going to have to pay up if they want to keep it associated with them instead.

If COD does go back to MS, I'd say it's because of one of two things. Either they jacked up the price for Sony and Sony refused, since they know it's going to sell best on their platform anyway, so Activision went back to MS OR MS has decided they are really going to go all out this Xmas.

Just something to take in mind for the current generation and the split between the cod games in-between xbox one and ps4.

MICROSOFT DEAL
Ghosts:
Xbone: 3.05m
PS4: 4.17m

Advance warfare:
Xbone: 5.22m
PS4: 7.53m

SONY DEAL
Black ops 3:
Xbone: 7.26m
PS4: 14.98m

Infinite Warfare:
Xbone: 4.62m
Ps4: 8.02m

WWII:
Xbone: 5.50m
PS4: 11.46m

Now it's pretty clear that when microsoft had the deal it was pushing software way more and the split in-between xbone and ps4 was way smaller than what it is now. I think if microsoft signed this deal it can push more console in the usa and help close the gap.

I agree with this.

If Microsoft has both Battlefield V and BlopsIIII,that could very well give them the upper hand in the US this fall.

Against a $199 PS4 with RDR2 and GOW bundles out for Xmas? Doubt it.

Yep the stick and far superior triggers make all the difference. Plus the coating on the Xbox pad doesn’t start breaking apart after 2 hours of use lol.

I was browsing at a store like two years ago or so and a Sony rep was trying to sell me on The Order (this was before the world knew it was garbage) and we somehow got on the subject of controllers and I mentioned the shitty sticks and how they break up easily and he whipped out two new analog nubs from his large bag and told me to pop those in and they’d work much better. I did, within a few days they were breaking apart lol.

Hmm, that might be interesting if true.
If so, I'm almost certain they would make the Xbox One X a focal point in the marketing.
Though, I seriously doubt that Sony would just let the Marketing Rights for Call of Duty slip right through their fingers.
If Microsoft wants those rights back, they'll have to dig deep into their pockets.

I think at this point Sony can find better shit to do with their capital.

As for the controller thing, here's the truth. left analog stick more important than the D-pad, therfore it should get the best placement.  The face buttons are more important than the right analog stick, therefore it gets priority. Nothing too hard to understand.

And as for the bolded, that  is very much up for debate. We dont even know if there will be bundles for any of them, yet.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Or maybe people are overthinking this and they are actually just using hash marks, signifying number of kills.

Agreed. They're both poor in that regard. The 360 controller was miles better for shooters when it comes to consoles. Best controller for fps titles.

I'm curious, what makes the X360 controller better than the XONE controller?

That profile pic is hardly conclusive, seems like a lot of speculation.
Anything I am missing in regards to this?

Those pockets are deeper than a Robert Frost poem being read within the center of the earth. If they want to make COD console exclusive, they easily could. It's just a matter of whether or not they want to.

I don’t plan on getting a ps4 this gen so the marketing of a multiplat matters not to me.

I do hope this one takes advantage of the X1X though.
