What I found most interesting from that presentation was that in 2007 the UK games industry was worth ¥670 Trillion compared to Japan at ¥700 Trillion. Could we see the UK overtake Japan in terms of revenue in 2008?

Wow, go UK!

That's incredibly strange considering that the UK has a population roughly half the size of Japan, and gaming has always looked to be more mainstream in Japan.

 It's kinda unfair since people in UK pay the highest price for console and games, while the Japanese pay the least.

 So in real term, probably actual sales number is only 1/2

Surely revenue is a "real term"? I realise a lot more units are sold in Japan, but is two units at half the price worth more than one unit at twice the price?

The comment about revenue is just to show that japan would have more games and consoles even if the revenue is the same, which would point to japan not necesarily having less games per person then uk

Of course, but that doesn't negate the fact that the UK spent around twice as much per person on gaming last year than Japan.
