Like it better than the original. It’s paints itself as a sequel not a reboot. And the biggest surprise of all are all the adult innuendos. Clever enough for adults to laugh and adult enough for kids to not understand them.

why are people surprised?

Jumanji (well here in Australia) has always been popular as has the Rock and Jack Black movies in the past.

Well not me. I thought it was going to flop-do moderately well like some of these other film reboots and remakes.
