See, that's what I meant... because its a PS2 port, Nintendo Power probably found it reason enough to critize the game without any good reasons, but with only the thought in the back of their minds... PS2 port = suck.

Regardless of which is better, I wish they would have made traditional controls an option on the wii version because I tend to prefer standard controls with my gamecube remote.

I will wait for the internet review. This is another case of print being dead.

Games are not done until right before a release. These print reviews had to have a copy that was at least 2 months old. No way it was the final version.

The developers had a ton of work to do as many assets were missing from Cover being shut down. They didn't add full widescreen, and paper filter, and control tweaking until the final build. IGN got it two-three weeks ago. No way these guys had the final version.

While I do discount Game Informer(every time you quote it you make puppies cry), as they often revew games months before they come out and make things up based on the hype. Nintendo Power and EGM are ones I usually like but it seems they have been burnt.

The most recent IGN podcast did say that ONE paintbrush move was harder. The direct up line. Thats it. And they said that was easily rectified by making a short line. Everything else especially the circle for the bomb was way easier and faster.

I think the reviewers need to dig out the PS2 version and not let theri nostalgia cloud them. I found the paintbrush, especially circles, awkward and jarring from the tempo of the game. I can't say that I know the Wii is better but I am confident enough to spend my $40.

I'm not sure what reviews you're referring to besides IGN, but I'm not arguing with you.  Learned my lesson last time... lol

I'm sure those mags are using the same version IGN had that lack the Rice Paper Quality and probably didn't control as well.   That's why I'd wait for all the web reviews of the final product.  Then again, I'm not looking to buy it anyway. 

 I have the PS2 version, and plan on getting the Wii version, even if it's not better. I like to support developers that take a risk on great games that don't sell well.

The reason I linked the above quote in, is doesn't separating from the company your helping promote add credibility, not take it away?

I suppose I could....but I was just wishing that they'd make some improvements graphically, etc. and maybe even some added content, but that doesn't appear to be the case.  Lol, it sorta feels odd playing ps2 games when I have all three newer consoles, but oh well.

In normal coverage maybe, but in this situation they're basically like every other random site throwing around high and low scores to try and get attention and make their investment in the purchase worthwhile.  As far as I'm concerned their credibility has been reset to zero and has to be built up again from there.

Wait, you think Nintendo Power would have MORE credibility if they were associated with Nintendo?
