Launch was 2.76 million

Forecast to add 15.00 million to that by March 31st

Currently at 14.86 million

https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/finance/hard_soft/index.html

Basically 2.9 million more Nintendo Switch for January, February, and March

So 14.86 is SHIPPED and not SOLD, right?

I mean if it's "sold" then they would only have to sell 140.000 units to reach 15 million. So the real sales figures as of December 21 2017 is something around 12 millions units. Why can't figures be clear instead of confusing.

https://www.dualshockers.com/nintendo-shipped-14-86-million-switch-units-2017-predicts-17-74-million-march/

It's not confusing, it's very simple math. 2.76 of the 14.86M units sold before March 31, 2017, you just need to subtract those numbers to get the required amount to reach the 15M fiscal projection. The total will be 17.76M

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Everyone scoffed when the rumors that Nintendo was readying production for 10-20M units on the NX. How the times have changed. Can the Switch dominate 2018 as well?

But it never dominated. As an European this america-centric perception is so alien to me.

EU isn't the only region that matters. Switch did extremely well in the US, and dominated in Japan.

So 17.76m shipped in 13 months. Didn't the ps4 sold 19m in it's first 13 months?

That's great for the Switch, considering its sales only include 3 quarters!

Easily the most impressive thing from this was that Odyssey has already topped 9 million. I knew it was selling well but that rather blew me away.

The 15M for 1st FY have been expected in VGC since December update from Ninty I would say.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

What was their previous forecest? unfortunately I forget...I'd like to know how much they adjusted up.

Yeah, that is indeed incredibly impressive. I'd say it's much more impressive than Zelda's >100% attach rate at launch. The more consoles out there (and the more people with different tastes that are buying games) the harder it gets to have huge attach rates like that. 9m sales on a 14m install base is absolutely fantastic!

Yeah, we all knew that BotW was a "killer app" for the launch but I didn't hear people saying that about Odyssey for the holidays... now that I've seen these numbers I do wonder if it deserves that title as well. I wish I could see a survey to see how much late-year Switch purchasers were doing so to get Odyssey, as these numbers suggest more enthusiasm for it than I'd realized.

There was two, at one time they believed it would sell 10 million FY2018, and they raised it 14 Million. I don't know if this was reported financially or was just rumored the very first forecast was 8 million (However this might have been for the calendar year 2017).
