I can understand if its new members but its especially baffling when its people who have been on this site for years are saying its sold through.

It's all Sony's fault.

They're the only ones I remember that have actually released sold through figures before, so it's them that are confusing people

Well Nintendo did reveal sell through of 7 million in late October and 10 million in mid-December so they do announce sell through at times.

The Switch completely and utterly obliterated the Wii U in less than a year. Congrats to Nintendo, they deserve all this success. Also, I'm really happy because Xenoblade 2 reached 1 million sales.

The only reason the Switch is selling so well is because of games stolen from Wii U owners who bought the Wii U to play those games. After the Wii U scam Nintendo should be bankrupt, just like Sega after the Saturn, Atari after the Jaguar or Ouya after the ouya. The only reason they aren't bankrupt is because of asshole "fans" who are playing Wii U ports stolen from people who bought a Wii U to play those games.

Wii U ports are stolen? Yeah... lets see the footage of Nintendo sending round goons to break into peoples houses and take away their Wii U games to force them to buy a Switch instead. Oh wait... they didn't do that and those people can still play their Wii U games :O

If people who skipped the Wii U can play those games without waiting at least 10 years for a port, then yes, they ARE stolen. The value of Wii U was in EXCLUSIVITY. You bought the piece of garbage that was the Wii U because if you didn't, you couldn't play Mario Kart 8 for at least a decade. The value of Wii U was also in its LEGACY, because when you buy a Nintendo console, you expect a console with a great legacy. Then they ported Wii U games from Switch and retroactively destroyed everything the people who bought a Wii U spent money for.

Dude, let it go. Enough is enough. It was funny the first time, now it's just sad to read.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

So the reason for why Switch is a success that managed to outsell the Wii U in 10 months is that it got a bunch of Wii U games ported to it. I like that logic. Pure brilliance.

And I very much hope that all of those fake fans get a good spanking for their evilness and that Nintendo erases every code snippet and every asset used in Wii U games and sends all staff that worked on Wii U games to Mars so that no Wii U game can be re-released or re-created.

If people bought a Wii U for those reasons then they're idiots, plain and simple.

People are supposed to buy a console for the games that it can play, because other consoles can't play games.

If that was the case Wii U would have sold less than Virtual Boy. Also nobody would have bought PS4 or XBox One at launch. The whole business model of consoles is based on exclusivity to some extent, otherwise, why buy a console when you can play games on your PC or smartphone?

Breath of the Wild was a Wii U title. Mario Kart 8 was a Wii U title. Splatoon 2 was an asset flip of a Wii U title. The only system seller title for Switch that was new was Super Mario Odyssey.

Also there are a lot more Wii U ports this year: Bayonetta, Donkey Kong, Hyrule Warriors...

If Nintendo didn't port Wii U games and sold the Switch on its own merits and with its own games like they used to then it wouldn't sell nearly as well. But then the Wii U wouldn't be a scam.

So is Xbox looking at becoming the third console. If the switch doesn't stop selling like this they'll pass Xbox in another 2 years.

Because you want to play the games on that console? Whether they're available on other consoles is mostly irellevant. You think the people buying GTA and FIFA on PS4 give a fuck that it's on PC as well? Nah, they don't, because a game being available on another platform as well doesn't affect people's enjoyment of said game...

The people who play GTA and FIFA are casuals who follow the hardcore gamers who buy consoles based on exclusives and expectations. If hardcore gamers didn't buy the PS4 in droves because it's a Playstation then casuals would play GTA and FIFA on PC. In fact Xbox One has pathetic sales now because XBox games are also on PC now.
