Mario Kart is more known for outselling things because of extremely long legs.
It will probably outsell Odyssey in the long run.

True enough. But I think Galaxy sold about 5m in about the same time frame. 9m for Odyssey is a huge jump up from that. It's kind of nuts.

Absolutely, it will probably go on to sell 15+ million, a first for a 3D Mario title.

It'll be really interesting to see the sales of those upcoming Wii U ports going forward, as the Switch continues to outrun the Wii U's install base.
As many as 6 million more Switch owners (than Wii U owners) may exist by the time Tropical Funky Kong comes out.

Yes I just can't understand this also, for many years whenever quarterly numbers are reported in financial statements from Nintendo,Sony,Microsoft its always shipped. Yet it seems we have always have people always saying Oh no thats actually Sold to customers not shipped.
Perhaps this site needs a FAQ, and write at the top a short piece explaining this

I can understand if its new members but its especially baffling when its people who have been on this site for years are saying its sold through.
