Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan sales (Week 2): Media Create/Famitsu/Dengeki - January 08-14, 2018

Nintendo has to have more units to sell in Japan if they're expecting to push 20 mil in the next fiscal year. Actually, they might be choking supply only to ramp it up in the next fiscal year to meet that lofty goal. Guess we'll see how long the shortages last and if they happen to clear up in April.

Whats the logic of not selling now just to sell later?Nintendo is just having a hard time keeping up the demand. It probably moved units that was stocked for january up to december(2017) to try to meet demand.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The logic comes into play when you think of shareholders and the importance of meeting goals set as a company.

Oh shit, PS4 won a week :O

Also, what's up with those Dissidia reader reviews?

Quick google translate:

Really problematic online-play that often kicks you out and causes performance to slug.

matchmaking don't work very well.

Simplified game-play compared to the PSP games.

Shody Camera .

Poor single player experience with little to no replayability.

Bad AI.

Unlocking alternate costumes and battle music with Gil requires allot of grinding.

There where a few more things to, but those seems to be the biggest complains.

But if you think you couldnt supply both this first few months and the next fiscal year, you would just simply lower the number you announce(So 20 millions to 19, maybe 18 millions).Plus there is the even bigger problem that, if you keep having big stock problems, you will only piss off your potential customer and may end up losing him.

Lets please stop this artificial demand nonsense.Please.

Splatoon 2 needs under 1.32mil to beat DQ11 retail.

Ps4 with the #1 selling game and its the #1 selling hardware too. The boom is back baby!

Anyway EDF and cod with excellent legs. Ps4 crossed 6m units sold. Great milestone with plenty of gas left in the tank. Next up 7m which it will hit this year.
