I really have no way of knowing what the deal is, and I don't just mean that from a logical perspective - I also mean it from anger.

Angry that someone is lying here. Because if it DIDN'T HAPPEN...then this guys should be screaming his case that she is wildly lying. And if it did happen then he should basically just acknowledge full out that what he did was awful.

It's these half middle-ground cases that are driving me nuts. I mean how does one inaccurately express that they don't want sex? Furthermore...how can you even have good fun sex if the other person isn't...enthusiastic....you know what I mean??? Like if you feel you're getting raped or forced into sex then...how do you have sex to the point where you can actually get aroused, not just physically, but like energetically/movement-wise.

Something doesn't add up here (it feels like it)

and I'm honestly not sure which party is the misleading one. I'm glad the majority of cases don't fall into this category but a few have and it's hard to decipher what's actually going on.

Yeah, because him saying "She is lying and I'm disgusted by her" would probably have the feminists back off....

I think everyone just wants the truth, which when contested, is, usually, imo, retaliated with passion. This is a serious allegation of enormous magnitude when it comes to how everyone in your life will perceive you thereafter; friends, family, colleagues, where you go to church/shop/eat. It's enormous.

If someone threatens that livelihood, of your entire life, and on a stage as big as the world of celebrity, then by god you've got to fight back with your assertion of the truth, whether in changing your original response or doubling-down on it.

I'm not actively following this story so I'm not going to speak for how he handles this onward from here. I just imagine he knows what's at stake whatever the real answer is.

If both are drunk it is obvious that the men rapped, get up with times.

Yeah, those rappers of today are the wooooorst.

Btw was Nirvana being instrumentalised for the #metoo movement?!

Haven't hard of any Nirvana involvement. What do you mean by then being instrumentalised?

I think it's generally easier to express and digest the truth than a lie. A lie, especially of this magnitude, generally smells fishy.

Like I said I'm not sure what to make of it

Yes saying the person pressing false claims of rape will totally get him free... just like it did to several cases of men that were jailed because a girl lied and were free several years later when the girl finally decided to tell the truth, and guess what wasn't jailed for false accusation of crime. In case you don't know she claiming he commited a crime that he didn't is ground for a sue and jail time.

Perhaps, but they are not helping their case as sane rational members of the species really when it has gotten to the point where we need contracts and consent forms just to have something as simple as sex ...

BTW, I would not trust a sex contract / consent form / Legal fling or whatever. That could be thrown out in 5 sec by any judge that is biased in favor of women (basically all of them). "your honor ... he forced me to sign it..." "Throw the book at him, sexual assault / rape charges!"

Yes, because it's outrageous to ask for consent before having sex. It's not just a woman thing either, if a woman is making advances on a man or another woman, or a man is making advances on another man, they should ask for consent before they do anything.

It is kind of outrageous to do that though ... it is something I would expect an alien or someone with autism to do ... it would be like if I asked for permission to shake your hand, or permission to talk to you. It is just strange / cringe to do.

Honestly the only occasion where it is advisable to ask for clear permission for sex would be if you are with a prostitute.

In all other circumstances, assuming you know this person to some degree, both parties should be comfortable working this stuff out with nonverbal communication. If either party doesn't want to engage, a simple and clear "no" is all that is needed ... if things continue after a clear "no" then we can talk sexual assault. I'm sorry, but a guy putting his arm around a girl to pull her in for a kiss, or a girl touching a man's shoulder is not sexual assault and/or rape...

No one was forcing this woman to be there ... she could have walked away from this guy the moment it became uncomfortable but instead she decided to concoct this attention grabbing story and probably ruin this guy's career.

Nothing to see here, more mindless Me2 garbage.  They watched TV together afterwards for goodness sake.

If you have attempted to have relations with a women and she wasn't into it, you did the same thing as this poor sap.  Anyone that is sexually active has been there.

"If you have attempted to have relations with a women and she wasn't into it"

...that's rape though...

if the story is true, how can he sue her for defamation?

she went through the experience and obviously feels wronged, that's not a justification for him to sue her

If the story is true she was engaging in sexual activity with him, when she voiced she wanted to stop he stopped. But she is making the story in a way as he was practically raping her... if you don't see reason for a sue, sorry.

yes at one point in the interaction but at other points she resisted and showed that she wasn't consenting

That's the kind of experience you tell close friends and not to reporters. If she thought that something criminal happened, she should go to the police and not to a reporter. You can only say so much about a person publicly before it become slanderous or defames them especially if damages their career.

Anyone with some sense knows that you don't name a person when you're retelling a bad date story or a negative story about a person publicly. This chick doesn't have much sense if she thinks blowing a guy a couple of times while naked is sending a non-verbal que that she's not interested or that she wants to slow things down.

the point of the me too movement is to influence women to speak up about these things more, thinking like yours would derail the whole thing

You mean her alleged non-verbal signs that he missed while she was doing oral, but on the penetration he stopped when she said a SIMPLE NO?

I'm interested in what people think he did that was so wrong? The worst I can think of is that he missed non-verbal clues, which we don't even know what they were. Or that he didn't ask to start kissing her? What are people mad about, specifically?
