One of the other rumors was a new battletoads from rare I believe and playground games is supposedly making a fable reboot. Not sure if that has since been confirmed or denied though. I first read this rumor about a month ago.

Might just be speculation, but both may be working on new IPs.

I don't get the impression Rare of back then is the Rare of now. So they might not be that interested in old IPs.

I'd bet other studios are more interested in working with those IPs though. If possible maybe they should work with Playtonic.
