There is a lot of uneeded damage control ..... or self insurance on this side of the forum.

Agree, because after a mini direct, there won't be any direct in near future

Actually there couple of good points and facts why we could have new Direct in next couple of weeks.

But fact is that is not, its managed like MIni Direct not like normal Direct: its short, no earlier announcement for Direct around 2 days before Direct like we have with regular direct, we didn't had Koizumi or some other big Nintendo executive running Direct like was case with last two normal Directs when Koizumi was runing directs, no big announcements. Its clear fact that this was not managed like regular Direct, there is reason why Nintendo done all that and why they called this Mini Direct, not normal Direct.

Like I wrote, you are one that ignored how they manged Mini Direct. Maybe it seems that there are enough games for now for 1H 2018. but that doesnt mean we will not have more announcements for 1H 2018.

I dont agree it look lackuster, curent 1H 2018. looks decent, and we will probably have more 1H 2018. announcements. We already agreed that Nintendo hardly can have so many heaviy hiters like it had in 2017. but that regardless that Switch can have strong year.

Mario Tennis and DK TF are 1st party games, Hyrule Warriors also caould be calle 1st party game basically (exlusive game with Nintendo IP).

Offcourse its not proof, but also is not proff they don't have one because they didn't announce it in Mini Direct.

Article actualy have some good points that we could easily have another DIrect in near future. Fact is that this was Mini Direct and that we alaways had regular Direct less than a month after Mini Direct. Blank space for Direct actually always is sign that new Direct is coming in near future (it can be few weeks). Other points just give more chances that we will have Direct in next few weeks.

"But fact is that is not, its managed like MIni Direct not like normal Direct"
You listed a ton of things that separate a Mini from a regular ND, but you didn't mention the most important aspects:
1 - Mini NDs were done for a specific region (not worldwide as regular NDs)
2 - Mini NDs were made for a specific game
3 - In one case (July, 2013), it was used to announce some release dates of already known games.

See how this Mini ND is not your usual Mini ND?
Again, you can't use the "no big announcements" card as proof that those announcements will happen in the regular ND - may it come in February, March, April, etc.

I'm not against the idea of a surprise for the 1st half. But given the games already announced and Nintendo's way of doing things, i won't hold my breath for something major that will change the 1st half, from lackluster to good.

And it is lackluster because it's selling games are mainly Kirby, Mario Tennis and more ports.

It appears that Retro is a 1st party studio. I actually thought they weren't. Sorry about that.
Still, remains to be seen if they are behind the port or not.
According to this website, Cameloft is a 2nd party: http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Second_party_developers

I feel like it's going to be on the 25th.

-First Mini Direct is not same thing like normal Nintendo Direct, Mini Directs are shorter than normal Nintendo Direct and they don't have big new announcements. Mini Direct are in less than a month followed by regular Nintendo Direct.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Direct_presentations

And we basically saw that with last Switch Mini Direct, short Direct without big or new announcements, all news were ports/remasters and updates/DLCs, with only one new game announcement that's actually smaller game (Mario Tennis). And thats why we didn't had Direct announcements around 2 days before DIrect like we have for regular Directs and instead Nintendo just announced and release in same time Mini Direct.

-Second with Switch we have plenty of announced games that are released only 2-3 months before launch, games like Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Rocket League, Pokemon Tournament DX, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Doom, La Noire, Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2, Bayonetta 1 and 2, are all unannounced only 2-3 months before launch.

So with those things on mind, we can definitely expect another normal Direct around March (even it's possible that we will have it even sooner than that), and more Switch announcements of releases for 1H of 2018. (mostly for Q2 of 2018.), with bigger and some new games, even if we can expect some 3rd party announcements outside Direct like we had before.

SNK HerionesTag Team Frenzy is a new game as well.

Basilcly all your points are wrong:

1. We had Mini Direct for all regions in same time also.

2. We had Mini Directs that are not for specific games.

So not that you are wrong, but you ignored all clear fact that I menteined why this Mini Direct and not Direct thats menaged like regular, again: its short, no earlier announcement for Direct around 2 days before Direct like we have with regular direct, we didn't had Koizumi or some other big Nintendo executive running Direct like was case with last two normal Directs when Koizumi was runing directs, no big announcements.

Well you say "how Nintendo is doing things" but in same time you ignoring fact that Nintendo is holding back announcements, and clear fact that you keep ignoring this was Mini Direct not regular Direct.

Again, its not look lackuster, curent 1H 2018. looks decent to continue momentum for Switch, and we will probably have more 1H 2018. announcements. Kirby and Mario Teniss are not system seller games, actualy DK TF and Hyrule Wariors are more bigger games and doesn't matter at all because they are ports/remasters.

There is a chance that more announcements will come in the future to help bolster the 2018 line up for the Switch, but I don't think that changes the point that the Mini Direct wasn't all that too exciting. It's fine, don't worry about others are saying.

You're right:

Nintendo Direct Mini New Super Mario Bros. 2 November 27, 2012 Japan, North America, Europe, Austrália

Nintendo Direct Mini Flipnote Studio 3D March 13, 2013 Japan, North America, Europe, Austrália

"2. We had Mini Directs that are not for specific games."

Yes, just not Worldwide.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Direct_presentations
And none of what you tried to show actually compares to what this Mini Direct was.

I'm really not getting why you act like it's just your regular Mini...

So your reasoning is: Nintendo has done things one way, therefore, it can't do things differently - even if they actually do it.
Again, no big announcements is not a proven fact that the next ND will be like you want it to be.

Miyamotoo, i really don't see the point in repeating myself anymore when you refuse to see that this Mini Direct was different; you also keep acting as if the release schedule is pretty much complete given Nintendo's own way of doing things.
I have admitted that there might be a surprise, yet you seem to believe that the next ND will change everything. Ok. No harm in believing in that.

Even if there are maybe some differences, it's obvious this was Mini Direct and that has much more things that are characteristics of Mini Direct not regular Direct.

My reasoning is that fact is that Nintendo keep continuing holding back announcements, last month they announced Bayonetta 1 and 2 only 2 montsh before launch. So there are minimal chanches that in Mini Direct on 11. January they announced hole Switch lineup for next 6 months.

You keep acting like this Mini Direct was like regular Direct, and I gave you couple of times clear facts that clearly pointing this was Mini Direct not regular Direct. Again: its short, no earlier announcement for Direct around 2 days before Direct like we have with regular direct, we didn't had Koizumi or some other big Nintendo executive running Direct like was case with last two normal Directs when Koizumi was runing directs, no big announcements.

I never said that next Direct and future 1H announcements will change evrething, my point is simple, curent 1H 2018. Switch linupe is not final, we will have more announcements for 1H 2018.

Also this is quite intersting things

https://mobile.twitter.com/theprinceofiris/status/952738518333378561

Here's a quick summary of what Chrom said (on Resetera) so that there's no confusion:

-There will be a Mini Direct on Thursday.
- It will be shorter than last week's Direct.
-He has no idea what's actually in it, besides "games and accessories".
-Says they're planning a much bigger Direct for February.
-It will not focus on a single game or franchise.

The direct was better than Sony and Microsoft's E3 combined IMO.
