Forums - General Discussion - French Drug Company used 700K Filipino kids as lab rats with potential killer dengue vaccine

Damn. Why the hell isnt this on any news platforms, or anything relating to the Philippines at the very least?

You could say that about anything. Learned it the hard way, but we've seen absolutely awful events happen without any word on it. Whether it'd be a Yemen funeral being bombed or this incident, the truth is that it doesn't matter in the eyes of many if it isn't in a first world country or area they know.

Disgusting, people have no scruples

Did anybody read the articles? The situation is not nearly as bad as people in this thread seem to think.

Also, the OP says "thank you, France", as though the nation did something wrong. In reality, other than the company being headquartered there, the country has nothing to do with this story.

The risk was already disclosed well over a year ago. Vaccine is not recommended for the seronegative but it's better than having no defense against Dengue ...

So how did an apparently not well tested vaccine get into an official government program? This reeks pretty much of corruption.

That said, every single vaccine and medicine in general carries the risk of side effects, small or big. How high is the rate here? 1 in 100000?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

A story can say 'hundreds experience side effects from vaccines', but if millions have had it then it's just being overblown. Granted, it's the news, so honesty isn't exactly anticipated by clickbaity websites and organizations
