Or the special edition Monster Hunter bundle which gave PS4 a big boost.

Because you don't collect that kind of global data in a fucking day. |
So basically you are suggesting that the Switch hit that 10M before December 3rd....
How about this, you do realize that nintendo could just have easily announced that 10M sold through number based on their stock assessment? They could just have easily counted forward as opposed to counted back.
Point is that you do not know and neither do I . Makes no sense taking the date Nintendo announced something and dialing it back for them. On what grounds? Ok wait..... what of if Nintendo actually hit that 10M sales around November 25th and just didn't announce it till december 10th? See? What of if sony hit that 70.6M as never 24th as opposed to around december 3rd when they announced it.... we could just do this for ever.

you should be telling that to him not to me... cause thats what I have been trying to say.
Nintendo said as of the 10th.... yet there are those here suggesting they sold that number much earlier than that......

Nah, I wouldn't count out PS4 coming on top in the US either ...
In a similar time period that both 3DS (~3.8M units) and Switch (~4.8M units) performed in the US, the Switch is roughly a 25% improvement. If we translated that improvement to lifetime sales in North America, the Switch would come up with a total of around ~28M units and Nintendo platforms are notorious for starting out strong from the gate while Sony platforms are consistent performers over a prolonged duration ...
In spite of the fact that PS4 managed to outsell the 3DS in North America in less 4 years while the latter was still on the market are you truly certain that the Switch will come out on top despite that you think PS4 will be up YoY for this year ? (The release schedule for this year isn't the only potential that PS4 has left, there's still yet to come a current generation exclusive GTA and Elder Scrolls to boost PS4 to new heights)

Why are you assuming the Switch will follow the same sales trajectory as the 3DS?
Because it's quite obvious it won't. 3DS couldn't even sell at $250, let alone $300.
Switch is also getting a lot more games than the 3DS got. Games sell more consoles.
Just compare the 3DS in 2011 on metacritic with the Switch's 2017. Huge difference.

i have no idea why you think that. nothing suggests it will beat ps4 when its all said and done. as for these numbers we have insiders saying switch is selling better December, DOES vgchartz have insider information too.

Plenty suggest it'll beat the PS4 in those regions when all is said and done - starting with the fact that it's selling faster than the PS4 in those areas. Couple that with its hybrid status and it doesn't take Rocket Science to foresee that outcome. |
in japan of course. in the US, no way, it won't have nearly the legs the ps4 has, and nintedo released most of there system sellers this year and is 100$ cheaper then ps4. reminds on n64, where it had a amazing first year then it fell off.

I don't think they will have the "same" trajectory when there is variation in game release schedule and hardware pricing but given that both Switch and 3DS had a similar set of titles so far in their lifetime and launch (actually the Nintendo had one more month to work with the Switch beyond their domestic territory) it would not be prudent to think that a similar improvement would apply ...
Also, why do you assume that the Switch will reach as low of a price point as the 3DS did ?
If Nintendo uses the Switch as their only platform, it will probably have significant legs. Don't forget that only one console is a huge game changer for Nintendo and we will soon realise the difference since they pretty much stopped working on 3DS. We could see another Mario Kart, another 3D Zelda, several pokemon games, 2D Mario, Metroid etc all on the same console. People are also willing to pay for more games since they dont have to get 2 versions of a game on different support anymore.
Don't underestimate Switch sales just cause its getting beaten by a console in its peak (not necessarily 2017 but its still the 2 years of peak with 2018*)
