PS4 is in it's peak. Switch is still outselling the first 2 Christmas the PS4. It will be bigger next year with bundles and with kids to know it exists.

The peak will happen when the Slim officially drops to $199 sometime this year. This in addition to big titles like God of War and Spider-Man to ensure it remains up YoY.

As for the Switch, it will remain behind worldwide, but will overtake the PS4 in both Japan and the US when all is said and done.

In Japan probably yeah, in the US I don't think so as the PS4 is still leading sales despite the Switch's success, in Europe not a chance in hell!

Are people expecting the Switch to sell less than 50 million while merging the handheld and home console market of Nintendo for real ?
It's breaking records and it doesn't have the biggest games yet from home and handheld and it will all be on the same platform. A Pokemon game/Animal crossing for handheld and the 2D Mario/Smash from Home consoles and you have major boost especially when you have all of these on the same support, we have no idea how it will affect the market. 3DS was still seen as a DS #2 and never made an impact and managed to sell 70 million consoles while struggling at the beginning and being 240p lol.

Switch has the potentiel to kick the 3DS out of the park if Nintendo aren't failing with every game they put out in the next 5 years.

Sure, its a fine comparison, doesnt change the fact that launches aligned Switch is beating N64 by a wide margin

pretty sure the console was sold out during the first holidays in the US. launch aligned is way over  rated if the comparison is not proper.

Have anything to back up that claim?

quickrick will sell his left kidney just to prove his point of Switch failing

Probably because being a contrarian ensures that a dozen people will argue with him, giving lots of attention.  Sometimes I wonder if people have ever interneted.

Very lovely all around. PS4 in rarefied air with it's numbers this month.

How so?

Because it had a big jump from holiday 96 to 97?

Does that mean PS1 had shortages in holiday 95/96?

playstation started off slow, and didn't have a killer app. mario 64 is the best launch game of all time. come on.
