ps4 is at 76 million shipped, its been selling great for years now, nothing to worry about. switch on the other hand is a very unknown, it could easily lose momentum like 3ds.

How and when did the 3DS "easily lose momentum"?

second year it was flat by the 3rd year it was down.

The 3DS required a price cut in the first year to even start selling at all but once it got going, it did keep its momentum.

Didn’t 3ds just have it’s best year since 2014?

We'll have more answers once we know which games are coming in 2018. One thing for certain is Switch has already followed a much different trajectory than 3DS. 3DS had a disaster launch and needed an $80 price cut, while Switch sold at its original MSRP throughout the entirety of 2017 and even won December in the U.S. against discounted PS4 and Xbox One. I know you're reeling for Switch to fail so bad, but chances are it won't...sorry to disappoint.

its looking good for switch, but 3ds price cut  doesn't really mean anything, ds sold at 129.99 in its first year and kept on selling till 155 million, with out any more price cuts.

DS was $149 first year, and DS lite was eventually cut to $99

DS was cut to 129.99 within 10 months of europe and us release. ds lite was 99$ after 7 years of ds being on the market.
