Well... I have no idea....
Tekken 7, which I bought at least 6 times, for different people.
Nintendo Switch, 100 dollars discounted for me only, but I spent another 100 in accessories anyway
Lootboxes in overwatch, which Probably cost around 200 bucks total, all year.
Sonic Mania on PS4
Uncharted Lost Legacy
Shante Half Genie Hero (PS4)
Wipeout HD Collection
Injustice 2
FU'UN Super Combo (PS4)
Shantae: Risky's Revenge
Infamous Second Son (no idea i'd even bought that game)
Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (PC)
Tekken 7 on PS4 (the other 6 times were on PC)
Blazblue Central Fiction (PC)
Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite (PC)
Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Puyo Puyo Tetris (Switch)
Super Bomberman R
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

That's all I'm aware of. There's no doubt something missing...

GTX 1080 Ti FTW3, and my entire PC gaming rig, (does that count?)
Ryzen 7 1800x, and blah, came out to about 3,000 dollars, graphics card included. No idea if I ever got my free game with my card. I should probably figure out how to check that.

Estimating around £1600+.

Hardware I've acquired.. Nintendo Switch, Oculus Rift and PSVR. Plus accessories, peripherals and ultrawide monitor.

Software - games, DLC/online gubbins on; PC (Steam and others), PS4, Switch and 3DS.

Yeah.. not going to put much more in console hardware this year. Went a bit overboard in 2017 lol.

I did the math until I reached 700€ , then I thought to myself that it'd be better not to know really how much I've spent. still A LOT, Switch had me throwing money on lots of games !

Roughly 2500€, Switch included.

I find that pretty hard to believe

I get the feeling that all the new Switch owners will be way up there. Especially me, since I upgraded to a GTX 1070. Gonna guess the 900+ range

$610 CAD. Only semi regret is Destiny 2.

I don't know, I don't care and I really don't want to know. I'm gonna guess I spent about as much on RL crates as I have on all other games combined.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I've made an Excel table with all my spendings though I doubt it is pretty accurate because of some trade-ins that took place during this year. I probably need to write down every purchase ASAP in such kind of table this year to make it more accurate.

In total by platforms I've got:

Playstation (58%)

Xbox (25%)

Nintendo (13%)

Steam/PC (4%)

Total money spent ~1735$ which is almost 40% more than I did last year. Probably I should start spending less money on gaming.

Well, it has been a bit more than the other years. I'm usually spending around €1000 - €1400 on games, so about €100 per month on average.

This year it have been €1900... PSVR + PCVR games are the main reason for that increase (more than €700 = VR games). But don't worry, I can afford that. ;)

Here is a more detailed comparison of 2016 and 2017:

  • thanks to the Switch, the Nintendo percentage increased
  • PS4 percentage increased mainly due to PSVR titles
  • Xbox One has plummeted due to the lack of new releases; 3DS + Wii U already were very low in 2016
  • PC is over 50% again, almost 100% digital now
  • "GOG & Co." includes all digital PC stores besides Steam... therefore a big gain from the Oculus store

Six months later I'm down to normal levels: around €100 per month for games:

  • Switch percentage fell because I only bought some good indie games (Golf Story, Thimbleweed Park, Agatha Knife, Goetia, The Long Reach)... Super Mario Odyssey is still my newest "full priced" Switch game
  • PS4 percentage increased to almost 30% due to a lot of exclusives I bought (God of War, Detroit: Become Human, GT Sport, Shadow of the Colossus, Moss, WipeOut Omega Collection)
  • Xbox One would be 0 € if I hadn't included the costs for two months XBL Gold
  • Vita got new Life with Danganronpa 3, Chaos; Child and Steins;Gate Zero
  • PC is still over 50% due to PCVR games (ARKTIKA.1, The Gallery 2, Virtual Virtual Reality, Space Pirate Trainer, Redout) and best versions of multiplatform games... Humble Bundle Monthly also had some awesome months
