No, Hamill said that he did understand that Johnson wanted to clear the past. But he did not liked what they did to Luke.

Hamill also said that he thought Johnson was right in the end.

No he did not.

He said

"I said to Rian, ‘Jedi don’t give up.’ I mean, even if he had a problem, he would maybe take a year to try and regroup. But if he made a mistake, he would try and right that wrong. So, right there we had a fundamental difference, but it’s not my story anymore. It’s somebody else’s story — and Rian needed me to be a certain way to make the ending effective. …That’s the crux of my problem. Luke would never say that. I’m sorry. Well, in this version, see, I’m talking about the George Lucas Star Wars.

This is the next generation of Star Wars, so I almost had to think of Luke as another character,” he continued. “Maybe he’s Jake Skywalker. He’s not my Luke Skywalker, but I had to do what Rian wanted me to do because it serves the story well.

I still haven’t accepted it completely. But it’s only a movie,” Hamill said. “I hope people like it. I hope they don’t get upset, and I came to really believe that Rian was the exact man that they need for this job"

The Last Jedi, a movie that has greatly disappointed, or even angered, a great many of fans of the Star Wars saga, has just dropped a massive 69% WOW.  This is much worse than many were predicting, regardless of what they claim now.  It is much worse than the mere 40% that The Force Awakens fell.  Much worse than the ~50% other $200M+ openers did.  Even worse than the poorly received Justice League, which fell 56%.  TLJ is now $175M behind TFA after just 9 days.

Hope you sold enough Porg dolls to make up for it Disney.

Christmas Eve killed Sunday's box office, hurting the drop.  The last time the holidays shook out this way (i.e. Christmas Eve on a Sunday, Christmas on a Monday, etc.) was in 2006, and The Pursuit of Happyness - a super leggy hit - fell 44% over the same weekend.

Using 2006 as a barometer for New Years weekend, everything will increase.  (i.e. PoH made $14m over Christmas weekend and $19m over New Years; Eragon made $7m over Christmas and $9m over New Years, etc.)

Hmm, let's compare it to TFA.  TFA launched the same time this year in 2015.  Now, Xmas eve fell on a Thu, not really the largest day for the box office.  Even if there is an opening, those numbers are rolled into Friday's numbers.  So, it did $27.4M, almost twice as much as TLJ did.  It also only fell 28% from the previous day, where TLJ fell 50%.  Of course, you aren't addressing the massive fall it saw on Fri of 76.4% WOW, and the still poor fall it saw on Sat of 54.4% WOW.  Even if Sun were a little better, it still would have fallen ~65%, which is still god awful.

Poor guy had to play a character he hates because he was contracted to. Would probably not sign the contract again.

You only like the prequels with the argument calls for it. You hate them. You especially hate Revenge of the Sith.

It’s better than the prequels

You did not like TLJ. You are just trying to be controversial with the unpopular opinion. You are trolling.

The prequels are much better than TLJ.

I never said I liked TLJ. I said it was fine. It set up things I’m excited to see for Ep 9

Yeah whatever fits your narrative, we are all liars, not real fans and people paid to say is good, of course.

It set up nothing except a Finn/Rose relationship (who want to see that?) and a future new fight between Rey and Kylo Ren.

But we already know that Kylo Ren can not do anything against Rey in 1vs1. Rey even saved him after he killed Snoke by surprise against the guards.

Dude, show where the fuck did I said people that didn't liked it weren't real fans and stop with the bullshit, you are the ones constantly suggesting those who liked it weren't real fans, the only thing I said is many of those fans were being whiny and will probably change opinions with time, far, very very far from what you say.

You don't have to say it.  Putting quotations around fans when talking about people who dislike the film says it all.

You are a liar, out of all the coments I made about this (like 30) i put quotations on the word fan only ONCE and it was refering to those that for some reason were unable to see that some of those plotholes have perfectly easy explanations, some real fans as you call them didn't even remember Leia has the force, so it feels hard to believe they are such "real fans" while the rest aren't, the quotation was a parody of your own bullshit.

I'm curious to see how TLJ will be remembered in the years to come. The Empire Strikes Back is considered the best Star Wars movies by most fans. It was not well received at the time and made the least amount of money out of the original trilogy.

Might want to double check your facts.  ROTJ made the least.  ~$60M less than ESB.  Which is about $150M in today's money.  It made a little less domestically, a little less than a $19M difference, but in other countries it did better.

I think people's opinion will stay the same or sour even more.  There is so much to ESB, both in story/lore, the characters, and effects.  What does TLJ have going for it?  Porgs?  Plotholes so big you can fly a Destroyer through them?  A side story straight out of a Disney film?  Nothing really redeeming, except some of the scenes were really nicely done.  And even though there were some good ideas in it, they ultimately led to nowhere and/or to huge letdowns.  There is nothing even close to the level of "I am your father" to be found there.
