Without spoiling anything, what was so bad about this movie? I haven't seen it yet.

- Illogical plots that make no sense

- a long useless side story

- The terrible handling of Luke Skywalker

- The dude bro humour that replace mythological approach of SW

Not really sure about point one. There are some issues in terms of entertainment value but not sure if they become illogical or are just illogical because of (intended) character flaws.

I agree with point 2.

Point 3, it's been 30 years - Luke isn't going to be the person he was in RotJ. Last Jedi is darker so I can understand why its done this way.

Point 4, I'm not sure what you're referring to but will likely aagree once I realise what you mean.

You didn’t like the prequels

I did. AOTC is a bit harsh and the Padme love story is awful, but they did a great job at world building and at expanding the universe. Revenge of the Sith is just epic.

The TLJ is just garbage, and more and more people are realizing it. Deal with it.

You only like the prequels with the argument calls for it. You hate them. You especially hate Revenge of the Sith.

It’s better than the prequels

I'm curious to see how TLJ will be remembered in the years to come. The Empire Strikes Back is considered the best Star Wars movies by most fans. It was not well received at the time and made the least amount of money out of the original trilogy.

I'm sorry, but did you or did you not put fans in quotations when talking about people who like this film?

Dude, show where the fuck did I said people that didn't liked it weren't real fans and stop with the bullshit, you are the ones constantly suggesting those who liked it weren't real fans, the only thing I said is many of those fans were being whiny and will probably change opinions with time, far, very very far from what you say.

You don't have to say it.  Putting quotations around fans when talking about people who dislike the film says it all.

Well neither of you are fans, so it’s fine

Guys, this whole "you can't be a real fan if you liked the movie" spiel is total bs, as is the opposite "you can't be a fan if you didn't like the movie". Get over yourselves, people can like/dislike a movie in a franchise while still being a fan of the franchise. Personally I thought it was a good movie, but a poor Star Wars movie, and I most definitely am a Star Wars fan; I've watched 1-6 at least 7 times each, episode 7 three times, and Rogue One once (about to watch it a 2nd time), as well as both Clone Wars shows (the first one multiple times through), the first 2 seasons of Rebels (waiting on season 3 to be made available free online); read several Star Wars books in the old Expanded Universe that Disney axed when they took over; and played quite a few Star Wars games including KOTOR 1 and 2, SWTOR, Battlefront 1 and 2 (both the originals and the new EA ones), the Jedi Knight series, and Galactic Battlegrounds, among others.

Yeah, I don't like that kind of mentality either. I just wish we can all respect each others' opinions without resorting to that.

Mark Hamill hated the characterizaton of Luke in TLJ and came very openly about it. He said that it wasn't Luke.

There is nothing complex nor conflicted in Luke in TLJ. He is just a depressed hobo, self defeating, almost crying , being weak and dying a useless death in exhaustion. That's such a cliche. I could have written this character in 2 minutes.

Maybe you laughed when he threw his light saber, that's a the kind of humous Disney is bringing.

Oh so this new Luke is a cliche, but the all mighty hero that is just good and can't do no wrong was a complete innovation for cinema, right? Unbelieveble. Mark Hamill said after thinking about it he realize this new luke was a very interesting and thrilling one, he didn't hate it, and even if he did who the fuck cares, he is just an actor, he is not a critic, not a writter and not a director, George Lucas was very positive about this film and he created Star Wars you know? He wasn't just an actor, but of course that part doesn't interest you as much.

No, Hamill said that he did understand that Johnson wanted to clear the past. But he did not liked what they did to Luke. Lucas did not speak about the movie, why are you trying to  lie? You lacks arguments ?

The fact that you consider a broken , depressed character innovative or complex is puzzling. It's the same thing we are watching in every movie now.

Hamill also said that he thought Johnson was right in the end.

You did not like TLJ. You are just trying to be controversial with the unpopular opinion. You are trolling.

The prequels are much better than TLJ.

Yeah i'm very interested to see how time will treat it, it feels like this has happened so many times in cinema already, time usually puts things on its place.
