Why do i always see this switch vs ps4 in post where ps4 sells incredible well? If you know what i mean.

Yes ps4 launched November, @400bucks without any big game.

Yes switch launched at march @ 300 with freaking zelda and got a big mario game the same year.

Ask yourself this question.

Besides ps3 where sony fucked up badly, did they ever got beaten?
I'll answer.
Noo they did not.

Yes switch is a hybrid, but i think that Matters more in japan then anywhere else.

If you think this year whas insane, just remember next year we could see a bf ps4 @180 or 199 with a game.

If you dont see it the other way just as much than you are just ignoring it, plain and simple. People have been trying to downplay Switch doing well all year long.

Also PS4 didnt have any big games? What do you call Call of Duty, Battlefield, Madden, FIFA, NBA, Assassin's Creed? It had all of those day 1 and had them all again by the end of year 1 with Watch Dogs, Destiny, GTA, Last of Us as well.

You cant use the cross platform/multiplat/port excuse otherwise you cant include Zelda/Mario Kart as big Switch games.

Saying PS4 had no big games in its first year is revisionist history, it had one of the biggest system selling 1st year lineups ever.

So you are saying that the yearly games are the system seller for PS4

So you think it was Sony and MS fans downvoting every single not positive comment on the Adobe report and also upvoting all positve comments? Ok then.

Again, I have no idea. It's done anonymously. It could have been people who disagreed with the logic of the post but didn't care to comment.

So you think that all favorable Nintendo comments were logical and non-favorable were illogical and for some reason all over there agree....

Are this Numbers confirmend? I don't find any other News about this NPD Numbers..

The ballpark, ranking are mostly right. Give or take 100k each.

I really dont think anybody is hurt, Switch did good and PS4/XBO did amazing, it was an overall good month for all 3 console manufacturers and the industry in general.

My argument with him has nothing to do with sales, he just threw that in there because he doesnt want to admit hes wrong about his statement that Nintendo has already released 90% of their big games.

He did play the nes and one of his best friends works for nintendo so he knows about nintendo software more than anyone here

Thats not true because i am not interested in software sales of nintendo neither i am about sony sales, switzerland is pretty boring. But is like 60% PS 35% Nintendo and maybe 5 % for Microsoft sales wise here in switzerland

I don't see what the big fuss is about. Even if these numbers were true to form all it does is debunk the notion that the Switch will perform at Wii (or even PS4) levels

I know you're trying to go for a neutral and objective comment, but the tail end of it kind of ruins it. Again, the PS4's first post-launch NPD was only 61k above Switch's first NPD. And while I don't necessarily think that the Switch will go near PS4 levels(PS4 will be the 2nd best selling home console of all time after all), I don't think this would "debunk" it going near Wii levels. If anything, if we're to do this flat analysis with no context whatsoever that leads to the conclusion that Switch can't come close to Wii or PS4, than we can come to the reverse conclusion using the same lack of context. The Switch would be more likely to be near Wii or PS4 levels because it's so close to them. I know that's an exaggeration, but again that's just taking these numbers in with no context, which could be used to skew the narrative positively or negatively. In this thread, it seems to be more so the latter than the former.

All this really tells us taking context into account is that A ) The PS4 closed the gap Switch was building since it's March release(Switch had like 500k more sales than PS4 in the U.S. after March 3rd) and B ) That better deals get more sales.

He's right about the Wii thing. As it looks now the Switch won't do better than the Wii. In Europe most weeks the Switch is only selling a few units more than the Xbox One and in the US the Switch isn't even on the Wii's level when it comes to sales. TBH I don't think even the PS4 will do better than the Wii in the US.

I know this is an NPD thread but I was talking WW. Also, I think the Switch will have a better long term success than Wii. But my point wasnt that it will definitely beat Wii. It has a high chance not to. It was just that this NPD does not confirm it definitively.

Absolutely, it would be rediculous to claim games like Call of Duty & FIFA arent some of the biggest system sellers for PS4 but i did also list a handful on non-annual franchises like Watch Dogs, Destiny, GTA, Last of Us.

Switch finishing 3rd in NPD on it's launch year might say something about it's long term outlook in NA...not sure what it means (maybe nothing) in the big picture, but it's definitely not a household name yet. I'm what i would consider a 'hardcore' gamer in my mid 20's and almost all my friends own at least 1 console or gaming PC, and i've never heard the Switch mentioned once. Granted i've bought and sold one(after beating Zelda) without ever talking about it somaybe others have too. But i don't see this console ever getting anywhere near cultural acceptance of a PS4 or even Xbox with 'gaming' adults.

It means nothing long term. PS4 & XBO are in their prime, had big discounts and in XBO's case new hardware.

It had either the 3rd or 4th best post-launch November behind XBO (2014) & Wii (2007) and right around PS4 (2014) so the results are good in and of themselves despite being lower than the competitors.

2017 sales for Switch in the US are on track to be right around XBO/PS4 sales in 2014, ~4.5 million.

They are confirmed fake, the order is correct though.

they are not fake, they are not 100% accurate, but they give us a picture of what to expect. they are in the general ball park.

No, they don't. All read from these switch fall comments is 100% wishful thinking
