SMO and Mario Kart 8 have been the best two selling games (hourly) for almost all of December. Nintendo is going to report quite a quarter in January.

I went through yearly best selling lists on Amazon. 2013 has only 1 WiiU game which is Super Mario 3D World at 57 (2012 has none). 2011 has 3 3DS games (Mario Kart, 3D Land and OOT at 36, 50 and 62 respectively).
And now 2017 has 8 games listed (#3 Super Mario Odyssey (#2 hourly), #6 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (#3 hourly), #7 Breath of the Wild (#5 hourly), #21 Splatoon 2 (#19 hourly), #39 Mario x Rabbids (#68 hourly), #45 Arms (#51 hourly), #83 One Two Switch, #88 Pokken Tournament DX (#28 hourly)
There are also Skyrim, Just Dance 2018 and Xenoblade 2 that may enter the list by the end of the year as they have been consistent around top 30 in the hourly for a while (#30, 31 and 33 respectively).
Very nice first year software wise for Switch.

Granted, that would make sense in a normal sales month, at least after combing through the numbers throughout the year, but I find it hard to believe that Christmas shoppers, who are generally extremely price sensitive, would skip over the cheapest console, but who knows? Also interesting will be seeing if Switch's online sales are matched by B & M this month. The system is selling quite well, but its rankings on Amazon have led me to overestimate how big its sales would actually be (I thought it would do about 400k in October and 1 million in November). Maybe December, with Nintendo's usual holiday push, will finally see the two a bit more in sync with each other. |
Yeah this is always an exciting time of the year for sales to say the least! So we will see how things turn out.

I thought Dec was bigger than Nov for all of the big 3. I could be tripping though I am still not the greatest at keeping up with the sales lol.

That goes most for Nintendo, beacuse they usualy dont have Black Friday deals like Sony and MS, and Nintendo always have bigger jump in sales in December compared to previous monts than Sony and MS have.
