OP/Poll = Didn't + Still don't.
(I don't believe people (especially on TV) have changed there opinions just their talking points). "Agendaism" has definatly risen to the point of saturation in US politics.
Of the past few pages: I agree with iron; it is absurd to see people try to paint the democrats as harbingers of peace and stability or whatever. Donald Trump is a long time Dem affiliate (and likely still is ha ha ah!), but joined the Republicans so he could win. So the party dynamic is beyond the pale of traditional political parlay [or if you feel like I do call it DOUBLETHINK]. The overarching theme is honestly money, as it has been, and that's where you get these screwball arguments and conjecture that is honestly all about semantics; and anyone living here in the US is under the painful understanding that neither "side" is in favor of giving any money that they get FROM the people TO the people.
--Some info about government shutdowns. I feel this could be edifying. My father has worked as a federal government employee and now contractor for about 20 years now. There was some shutdown I remember lasting 3 months and they happen ALL the time. So much so that it IS part of there salary negotiation, meaning that they typically get paid more than their private sector counterpart (usually around 30k more-well I.T. anyway; I'm unsure as to other jobs) to make up for the innevitability.
So yeah, if you are a responsible person [(Typically, as always there are outliers and people who unfortunatly have bad luck)] you put a reasonable amount in savings as is DESIGNED, so that you + family are fine during the shutdowns. However, there are plenty of irresponsible people for idiotic 'journalists" to trod out in front of the news cameras nowadays so THEY can come up with BS controversy.
(Also I have been laughing at the news showing overflowing trash cans on the National Mall... News to all from here in the DC Area.. They always look like that, usually worse; it seems they actually had to clean up the place to take the pictures LOL. D.C> honestly is a shithole)

Honestly, I'm not sure where to begin, but this is (not only symbolic in the way people on the thread have been saying), but symbolic also in the manner thazt the whole US Immigration debate denegrates into the {definition of the word "is"} thing (That's a Bill Clinton story, worth reading up on).
As we can already identify people are constantly (and it started with the politicians) mixing up, confusing, and/or trying to re-define various terms in order to skewer the argument into there favor.
THERE is a massive difference between someone who is undocumented and an illegal alien (with a variety of possible determining factors betwixt the too). There is also Documented non-citizen, non-citizen Alien resident, Alien citizen non-resident, Authorized to work (Green Card), Not authorized entry, Legal entry BUT with violations... so on , so on and etc. I think I have proven my point and this is how you can see where "the system" became mismanaged decades ago, especially since we still have this unbelievably mind-numbing concept that all our national policies are subject to change wildly every 4 years.
So Highlights-- The VAST majority of Assylum Seekers (not in one of the categories above) along with all other migrants to the US are generally LAW ABIDING and NON-Threatning) --- (Still! - The are MANY illegal immigrants who do come over and cause problems) --- (Our government has been in disagreence on how to handle it for decades now; which is why you see the "Fence" as it is today, never completed, partitioned and useless.. (MADE in the USA!! That's how we do it, waste as much money as possible, with as little thought put into it as possible.)
-Additionally I'm glad to see amidst the other things Trump point out that this has been a multi-billion dollar agenda of both parties for some time, with promises made to the American people never delivered upon..
Allow me to explain this a bit here, I feel that there is a lot to be explained about this situation but I'll try to keep it brief.
One of the things Trump is bringing up (in the same TOO-SHORThand fashion as usual) is the drug crime/terrorism element to border security (which he says must include the wall. or at least, as of yesterday) His usual inelegant bungling has allowed the argument to converge many things into one confusing everybody. {my opinion is he does this on purpose}. THERE IS REAL TERRORISM on the southern border which does need addressing but it is NOT ISIS, ISIL, sleeper agents or other BS - though the inteligence community may have stated to him that it IS TECHNICALLY possible for that to happen... and he took that and ran with it as far as he could which appears to happen constantly during his administration.
What people may not know about our southern border area is this (note: I have lived in Southern Texas; though the majority of my life has been D.C. Area).
The cartels operate HEAVILY in this area, mostly running drugs into the US. The MAIN -HOW they do this- is by paying, extorting, or enslaving people to (can you guess?)
CROSS OUR BORDER ILLEGALLY, so that our Enforcement Agencies can't interfere with their drug trade; And the cartels will kill US Dutymen who pose a threat to their business.
This (along with other tactics) is the Terrorism that our government actually recognizes on our border (meaning, not reflecting Donald Trump, or any other politician whose maligned the issue.'s opinion)
It doesn't get expressed by anyone (other than ALMOST by Trump recently) that many Americans have been murdered by the cartels in part of a terror campaign agains US Gang rivals. Words cannot describe what it's like when a neighborhood gets targeted and 5:45 AM 20 houses in a neighborhood get hit with AK-47s. By the time the police arrive; the cartel men are back over the border in Mexico and American MEN, WOMEN and CHILDREN lay dead in their path, guilty of only getting up for work or school.
I'll take a pause here... I AM NOT in favor of RACE baiting politics... I donn't want a permanently closed border ... but, I do think something must be done. Those families were promised "something" would be done by passed Administrations and nothing was done. That is what Trump is talking about.
Overall, I still believe that Trump is just a con-man, marketing schill. If you understand MLM schemes and the like than you can understand Trump a lt better.
