would give it a 90+ if the graphics looked better and the protagonists wasn't a set of preteens engaged in warfare.

Show me the preteens with the boob size of Pyra. I dare you.

And that’s why her design is unrealistic imo

edit: no idea of her age but other than that she seems very young.

Also young protagonists are not a bad thing... sometimes young people have to cope with interesting things too.

I think this could end up anywhere in the 85-93 range. I'll go with 89 but hope it gets into the low 90s - I have a feeling it's going to suffer some unfair comparisons to Breath of the Wild, and will receive some criticism simply because it is (unashamedly) a complex Japanese RPG. I can also see some complaints around the British voice-acting and character models at a few outlets.

That being said, the positivity around Switch plus the slightly lower reception (versus XC) for XCX and the fact this is Switch's first major JRPG might all work in XC2's favour and see it get into the low 90s. I'm really looking forward to it, anyway, but it'd be good to see an ambitious Japanese RPG turn out well enough that it gets a really positive reception.

Good predictions all around guys, and you gave pretty fair reasons as to why it would score this or that. I added the story trailer that just got released on Youtube to the OP.

The British voice acting in this doesn't look as cringey as the first Xenoblade. They don't all have cockney'd accents this time around. The only problem is that sometimes things don't fit, like when a catgirl has a welsh accent. Oh well. Original language for me.

By the way, guys, do we know what's in the OST that comes with the game's LE? Full OST or just some songs?

You know what would mess me up? American accents instead of Brit accents. Glad they didn't with the first and this game.

A selection of tracks.

It's not so much that the voice acting is from another country. It's that every villain in the original game sounded like the freakin penguin. Dragon Quest VIII has British voice acting and it is beautifully done.
