Being we are in Nintendo Discussion, we must only be talking about games for the Wii (when I think big three, I think Mario, Halo, and FF).
Anyway, I am going to gripe at you for three things (and then go away :p).
1. How can you say a game is better or not better if you have never played it? MP3 might be the best game ever made, and you would not know it.
2. Metroid only has two titles with over 2 million in sales, and none over three million. Zelda has 8 games over three million, with two of them being over 6 million. If you are going to have a "big three" on nintendo, Zelda needs to be one of them :)
3. WTH is a AAAA game?
OT. SMG was my favorite of the games you listed. :)
AAAA is a term people use when they want to say a game rises above AAA because it is (or will be) a legendary game, one of the few that remain known to most all gamers of the genre even many years later when the "AAA" games are a distant memory. SMB, SMB3, SM64, TLoZ:OOT are among the most obvious.
At least, that's what I think.

No, they were the big AAA games that Nintendo was getting. For most of 2007, they were infact the only announced AAA games. Everyone was discussing them, which would sell the most, be the best etc.
So please, everyone, stop ranting about "OMG why isn't mario kart wii considered on the big 3 or ZELDA", they were never part of the big 3.

Holy crap, SSBB was definitely the best game out of the "Big 3."
SMG came in close second, because it was definitely a great game...great fun, definitely great polish.
And Brawl's online system is a little shoddy, but it's not quite unplayable...I've had a bunch of online matches with friends as well as random people. But Brawl was just an epic launch...we played that thing for over a day straight...pretty much non-stop, really. And I still play the game nearly every day, and my friends love it...it has much more lasting appeal than the other two games since it's multiplayer.

What is wrong with Melee 2.0? There was almost nothing wrong with melee.
Since I haven't played any of that yet... Tetris FTW!
