That's actually a fair point. Not farfetched to assume they probably choose to not review every game for that purpose
When lots of people gave it a 10 or a 9...... you have think about this one for a bit.......

Can we stop giving this guy attention? He is not some great reviewer of our age. I mean, his reviews aren't even as well formulated as many other reviewers on YT.

Unfortunately, that's not really feasible in our current environment. A lot of people complain about bias and unethical practices but what happens when someone is honest? Not only do they risk losing support but they also risk people attacking them personally or trying to damage their careers. A lot of those who are really, really into gaming don't want honesty, they just want someone to mirror their own opinions.
I probably wouldn't like Mario Odyssey very much. I don't care anything about platformers or that style of game. However, if I were a videogame reviewer, I wouldn't give it less than a 9, no matter what my personal opinion might end up. The intimidation tactics "fans" have used up till now are pretty damn effective.
People talk about "click-bait" but if you really want people to come to your website then the best click-bait would be good reviews for flag-ship releases.
The way things are right now isn't just because of journalists, it's also because of the fans.

100% Agree.
I know this is out of no where however i really like Angry Joes Reviews. There not counted on Metacritic however he does reviews perfectly. Joe also puts in alot more effort than this $hiT talker Jim.
The ratio of comments made, to people who actually know what's going on is impressive.

Well his BotW review was embarrassing to say the least.

Seriously, people are upset about a 7 on a 5 star rating?
Seriously... he didn't give it a rating... the numbers at the end are not his rating for the game.
