I still not decided whether I play XC: DE or XC: 2

I have Xeno 2 but just never bothered to play it

What do you guys think

Play DE first then Future Connected then 2 then Torna. It would be best to play in that order.

According to director Tetsuya Takahashi, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition‘s Future Connected is about 10 to 12 hours long. He shared more details on the upcoming remaster in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.

Here are the highlights from the interview with Monolith Soft president Tetsuya Takahashi:

  • [...]
  • Since the game is a remaster, they didn’t get to re-record the music with an orchestra. However, they’ve instead rearranged and improved on music quality.

Thank you, JWeinCom and Shiken.

Looks like it works like it did in XC2.

What people need to remember about the resolution and performance, and some people need to stop denying, is that this is a remake and not a remaster. If you were expecting 1080p 60 fps, you were lying to yourself. The game is running on a new engine, with new assets, new special effects, and rebuilt in a far more advenced state than the original. This is why despite lower resolutions, the game will still look far better than a 1080p remaster of the original code.

Having said that, it is still disappointing to see it that low. I definitely expected a bit higher in the resolution department.

Which title do you guys recommend someone (me) to begin with? I have Xenogears (PS1), Xenoblade Chronicles X (WiiU) and the new Definitive Edtion on Switch also looks pretty appealing to me. I would buy it if it would make sense to begin with this title.

I played Xenogears but never finished it. Chronicles X (WiiU) is still sealed.

Jeez, Playing 540p in 2020 on a 4k TV is gonna be one hell of an experience...

At times like this, I wish the rumours of the switch pro are true while we wait for the switch 2.

I am not saying that it goes completely to Full HD at 60 FPS, but in 2020 playing in HD at 30 FPS at most is wrong, not because of the console but due to poor optimization of the game by Monolith Soft

Well, they said it. It's a remaster. End of the story...

I can't understand how Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition run at the same fucking resolutions than The Witcher 3. What the heck Monolith xD

XBC are some of the biggest seamless games around with active ecosystems, secondly Takahashi saying remaster doesn't make it so especially under your logic in other threads prior where you said Sony calling SOTC a remake was wrong and didn't make it so.
