Well, it's already release day here, and I figured since I was required to pay 10x more for shipping ($20 for this game, yet last year $2.50 for Astral Chain. from same company for same sized package), that it'd mean a smooth process. Yet first message on screen when I open tracking is, "We're seeing a significant increase in parcel volumes. While the majority of parcels are being delivered within 3 days, some parcel deliveries are delayed by up to 5 days." Since it was picked up from sender yesterday, there's been no update to it's tracking history.

Ironically, I chose delivery this time, because I didn't want another case like FF7R where it's stuck on click & collect, and even after shifting to level 3 lockdown where deliveries had resumed, they never bothered to reply to my emails asking them to change it to delivery, and I had to wait a few more weeks. Yet now, if I chose click & collect, the game would've probably been in store this morning, and I'd be playing it now. Without paying a ridiculous amount for piss poor shipping.

Actually just checking the website, I can clearly see it's available in at least two local stores right now. The exact same edition.

Seems I just can't win in 2020.

Interesting to me this still gets such critical acclaim all these years later when critical reception to X and 2 were more mixed.

Simple, the original is a much better game than X or 2. ;)
