Nintendo has revealed new sales data for Super Mario Odyssey in the United States. During the game’s first five days, the game sold over 1.1 million copies. It’s now the fastest-selling Super Mario game ever in the US, not to mention Switch’s fastest-selling game.

Nintendo also confirmed that Switch sales in the US are over 2.6 million.

Just like Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Europe has offered new information about the launch of Super Mario Odyssey in Europe.

Nintendo says that Super Mario Odyssey has become the fastest-selling Super Mario game ever across Europe. It surpassed the launch weekend sales of Super Mario Galaxy 2, which came to Wii several years ago. Super Mario Odyssey is also the fastest-selling Switch game in Europe.

Man, the Switch is beating every single expectation.Not only in the hardware side, but most franchises that released on it so far are on the trajectory to surprass the best selling game on each franchise.Zelda, Splatoon and now Mario!(XC, dont let me down!)

VGC has NSMBWii at 307k FW in EU, so Odyssey is probably > 300k

First month US sales of all 3D Mario games:
[SEP 1996] Super Mario 64 (1 week) - 300,000
[AUG 2002] Super Mario Sunshine (1 week)- 350,000
[NOV 2007] Super Mario Galaxy (3 weeks) - 1,120,000
[MAY 2010] Super Mario Galaxy 2 (1 week) - 564,000
[NOV 2011] Super Mario 3D Land (4 weeks) - 625,000
[NOV 2013] Super Mario 3D World (2 weeks) - 215,000

So, Odyssey did in one week, what took Galaxy three weeks to do.

Yep, this is well on its way to becoming the best selling 3D Mario game of all time.

Okay ... if this is true then there's almost no way it sold 2 million in 3 days. Right?
