Actually, those preorders, if we use Amazon as an indication, came in months where roughly 70-75% fewer consoles are sold.

I know this is the u.s amazon chart thread but the Neon Switch is sold out and #1 on the hourly UK amazon page.

I think he's trying not to give the result because he knows whats happening in his store but not all stores, but I read it as PS4 did considerably better, and XBOX did very well this week compared to switch, which is what we expected.

XBOX's issue was that XB1s sales have been very poor of late and of course that would be tempered by the X1X, so though those pre-orders might be not bad, this would be offset by poor X1s sales... now with BF and X1s sales, that would have pumped up the sales and thus in total make it jump ahead of the switch (most likely) but not ahead of the PS4.

I just can't imagine, with current sales trends, that the X1 or NS would have had a lot of consoles on shelves. It would be a bad business move to just let inventory build up, and the NS is usually scarce. Similarly, their pipelines are going to be calibrated to the existing demand: X1 has been considerably lower in the US, and NS has been working hard to ramp up. Furthermore, X1X and NS are full price, more expensive consoles than the PS4, and BF is a discount deal day. 

He also said ps4 was nuking everything, you don't say that if they are equally selling. He also just recently said 'Nah' when someone said sony lost their chance to win because of shortages. Amazon shows ps4 ahead of x preorders. Reports of PS4 selling out everywhere and far outpacing switch. I think even Abdiel said ps4 is doing phenomenal. Gamestop having an even better deal then Amazon where they dominated. Gamestop also being the second largest in terms of console sales. And finally while not as big ps4 also had a couple of preorders to add. I just don't see how you can think the Xbox x preorders will help.

Yea but we have to keep in mind that when a new console is up for pre order it does well regardless of the month and the 1X was the most pre ordered Xbox console ever.

Most preordered doesn't mean that much when xbox og brand was still in its infancy, 360 still hadn't become mainstream at time of launch and xbone was dead on arrival until the drm was dropped. Lastly, uk sales did about half of what the original xbox one so if it had been the most preordered it should have outsold it unless this was only for US.

XB1 still had pretty good pre orders even though it got lots of blacklash.

Also in the UK because it had more pre orders doesn't mean it will sell more. I'm not expecting the X to sell more than the XB1 at launch. I think it will do 400k-450k in November NPD.
