Why would it need to?

We are using the fools edition as reference. It went from less than 100 to 71 in 3 days and still has 7 days of promotions to go. It will just show that’s in a few days PS4 managed to overtake Xbox X months of preorders and current sales.

In order to surpass XB1 and XB1X in November's NPD the $199 PS4 has to overtake XB1X + its preorders from September and October (hence its yearly ranking).

OT: Looks to be a very exciting month with healthy sales from all 3. Great time to be a gamer. Can't wait to see this holiday's NPD and WW numbers.

The fools edition. We don't know exactly how much the base PS4 was selling, but one thing for certain is that if the fools edition PS4 passes the XB1x on the yearly chart then it means in one month on amazon they sold more PS4s than they have ever sold XB1x's.

You mean in a week not month. It jumped 28 places in 2-3 days. By tomorrow it could hit 60s. 

Ok, I can see where you are coming from now. I would never have expected the XB1X to become the mainstay though, just as I never expected the Pro to do the same.

Because all those months of XB1X preorders get counted for this month. So if by the end of this month the fools edition PS4 passes the XB1x in the yearly, then at least from amazon it means there is one PS4 sku that has on its own sold more than every xb1x they have sold all year (this month). Then you can add the normal PS4 sales and the Pro before this $199 PS4 came into effect.

The highest ranking XB console in the monthly chart is the XB1X at #20. The nearest XB1s to it is at #40.

If the PS4FE can pass the XB1x in the yearly, then it means its most likely going to sell better than all the XB1 consoles. 

I don't get it isnt ps4 already ahead of switch and Xbox for this month?!
