Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo raised forecast for FY 2017. for Switch from 10m to 14m

Soundwave said:
So that would be fairly similar to the 3DS' first full fiscal year (13.53 million).

It's doing better then 3ds. It will be interesting to see how it's legs compare to 3ds.

No switch woukd be 17mil

Full FY would not include March 2017. numbers, so that's basically Nintendo forecast, 14m. 17m would be for 13 months of sales, which is again damn impressive. :)

Great to hear!Even though I think those numbers are kinda insane, Im really happy for Nintendo!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Good, 10m was really quite low. 14m is a very good start.

I refuse to believe that it will outsell the Wii U.

Its doung much better in the west compared to 3ds. Closer to ps4 performance than 3ds. (Ps4 has an extra holiday advantage)

Ye, if we remove the extra holiday advantage by skipping ps4's first few months, they're very very close indeed.

PS4 - 14.8m (April 2014 to March 2015)

Switch - 14m Forecast (April 2017 to March 2018)

Though I don't think Switch will accelerate as much as ps4 in it's later years. 2018 should be very strong for switch I don't know about 2019 onwards though.

Things that need to die in 2016: Defeatist attitudes of Nintendo fans

???

They expect to ship just 7.5 million in the last six months of the fiscal year?

They're still lowballing this, in my opinion.
