A Dutch man's approximate translation:

"...it's about selling as many Switch units in the next 10 weeks as were sold since launch, i.e. about 400k units, and, thanks to Super Mario Odyssey," Philippe Lavoué, general director of Nintendo France..."

Please excuse the poor translation, but the important bit here is the 400k sales expectation. Take a look at the link for the whole interview. That's is what they expected before launch as well, namely to sell 800k in this calendar year.

Please shame and correct me if the translation is plain wrong (don't believe it is, though)!

Lock if old.

So vgchartz seems to be overtracking these 2 games in France, hopefully adjustments will be made.

Nonetheless Nintendo is doing very good in this country and I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch manages to sell more than the PS4 this year (only in France though, not in the rest of Europe).

The translation is good

As usual, thats great news for Nintendo. The Switch, at this pace is on track to almost overtake the Wii U lifetime numbers in France just in the first calendar year!

It would also have been nice if Nintendo France gave some Mario + Rabbids numbers, but Im happy with BOTW and MK 8.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nice.

Feels good to be a nintendo fan

Hopefully the supply is good enough to make this objective attainable

Signature goes here!

It's nice to have a little Nintendo pocket right in the middle of sony/pc land europe.

The translation is correct. For further reference and if I look at my French sales archives, BotW should easily be in the top 10 by the end of the year, although far from COD, FIFA and other big AAA. MK8DX should do the same and it has already far outsold what the WiiU version managed in 2014.

Yet Nintendo France seems over-reliant on 1st party games. I don't hear him on FIFA18 Switch, so I guess it underperformed. It's been behind PS3 and XB1 version since launch. Switch is weak on the 3rd party front in France like anywhere else. NF can celebrate while they can, the real fight against PS4 is yet to come.

Unless of course they used VGC numbers prior to the last update and rounded down to the next 10k, which would result in 280k and 260k respectively - exactly what they mentioned in the article.
