Forums - Nintendo - Non-traditional Nintendo IP Switch bound next year.

Oneee-Chan is awesome for giving us a more proper translation. (a)

Anyway what kind of non-traditional IP are they talking about? Are they going to make a FPS? That feels redundant with Splatoon. Could be a horror game like Eternal Darkness. I don't think that will sell systems though.

Discussing Switch's future is going to be very interesting in the next 2-3 years.

Depends on the theme.

Nintendo could revive Eternal Darkness.  Or maybe they put more weight and funding behind Fatal Frame, push it to be bigger (not that it can be a multi million seller but it would be lovely to at least get to 1 million for once).

Just give me another Advance Wars, Nintendo. It's just the right thing to do. You will be given gold stars and miracles will be granted to the ill and dying if you do such a thing, Nintendo. Please.

I hope Nintendo can tackle a game that combines Shadow of the Colossus with The Last Guardian with Scalebound

And it would be cool to see a Western RPG as an exclusive, considering that no other console developer really has one(I don't really count Horizon)

Well the other Monolith Soft team seems to be possibly working on something to that effect, if the concept art we saw earlier this year is to be believed.  More likely a 2019 or 2020 title though.

Nintendo has the tallent in house to do pretty much anything.  Will be interesting to see what they pull off.

The one with the sword guy? I kind of assumed that would be an action title, something more akin to a DMC or God of War but without the flashy ness of both of those.

Now looking at the pictures(I only ever saw the one with the white caped girl) it does actually look like it's a lot more likely that it will be a Western RPG!

Devil's Third 2 confirmed.

Hey, don't be hatin' now!

Eh, I don't hate Arms, you know, it's... alright. But, lame.

I want Nintendo to do something I don't expect them to. As in, obviously I wasn't expecting Arms, but it's just another colorful game focused on competitive multiplayer, which is exactly what anyone would expect from a new Nintendo IP. I want something more intense, with a focus on a single-player adventure, and at the risk of sounding childish, more mature looking. I mean, I don't want necessarily something ultra realistic or with gore or anything, I just mean something more along the lines of Zelda or Metroid, which are franchises of a kind Nintendo doesn't have many right now.

So you are saying, you want that teased new Monolith Soft game to be a thing :P

Advance Wars would be a really good eShop release for Nintendo IMO. $24.99 and profit Nintendo.

Actually, yes. That thing sounded cool af and I don't even like Xenoblade.

Yeah, looks like a WRPG rather than JRPG in style at least.

And if they can bring THIS image to life in game...

...then I will lose. my. mind.

Super Peach Sisters: Beach Volleyball

...if the margins of pornhub are any indication, there's a segment of the internet that would be very happy to see Peach, Daisy, Pauline, Rosalina, Samus, Zelda and so forth in bikinis. Beach Volleyball was a great invention.

as awful as that sounds I almost want it to because of how surreal it would be. Nintendo princesses in a beach volleyball scenario? would play it just for the shits and giggles. Although Samus is like 6+ ft tall, I feel like she might have an advantage against the others in volleyball : P

Doubted you, but according to the wiki she is 6' 3" and weighs 190 pounds...She's taller and heavier than me, good lord. Can't imagine how it'd feel to fight her as Mario
